The initial test was to leave the model submerged in salt water for a week to determine any parts that would rust. The only area that needed an added seal was the oversized front roller-bearing – everything else performed brilliantly. The 12000S also comes with a slightly longer handle than its brother the "E" freshwater model for increase cranking power, a neoprene spool band and a wider and lightly longer spool line clip. It also has a smaller anti reverse to prevent it getting knocked when playing very big fish.
