The solid one-piece stamped aluminum reel stem and rotor arm are paired with lightweight graphite side plates and a rotor housing which provides strength where needed, and weight savings where possible. The Trio spool construction utilizes a multi-piece construction, housing the drag system in an Aluminum Drag Chamber for added stability and smoothness, while utilizing a lightweight graphite housing for weight reduction and distinctive styling.
The drag system found in the Trio series is a Dual Force Drag (DFD) system featuring multi-disc Japanese-oiled felt drag washers.
Nine ball bearings and a Quick-set anti-reverse roller bearing provide excellent casting ability as well as smooth and consistent retrieves. Okuma’s patented Elliptical Oscillation System (EOS) is also featured in the Trio, which provides smoother performance and promotes even line lay.
To add to the Trio’s durability, each reel features Okuma’s Corrosion Resistant Coating (CRC) process. This coating bonds to the metal parts and further promotes corrosion resistance.
