Korda Krimps Korda Krimps

Korda Krimps The final launch in our big-hitting trio of new releases is the long-awaited Krimp Tool. We’ve been fielding questions about the release date for what seems like years but the big day is now very close. The clever system will allow us all to reach brand-new heights of neatness in rig creation! The Krimps and Krimp tool have been designed to allow easy rig construction with stiff materials. In particular we’re really excited about the potential to create extremely neat loops for chod rigs. Not only this but using Krimps will allow you to create chod rigs that are exactly the same length each and every time. There are two sizes of Krimp available which have been designed to suit different materials. The smaller one will suit normal stiff materials and stiff coated braids like our Hybrid Stiff and the larger one is perfect for really thick materials (like 30lb plus mono). The product development team went to extreme lengths to make sure that the Krimps and Krimp tools were exactly right having to overcome various problems along the way. The complexity of getting the tool and Krimps just right has meant that this has been a long development but we’re sure that it’s been well worth the wait. Judging from the interest that you’ve shown in this product range it’s about to become one of our most popular products!
Korda Marker Braid Korda Marker Braid
£39.99

Korda Marker Braid This braid casts superbly well, thanks to its low diameter, and transmits the feel of the lake bed accurately back to your rod, allowing you to find the very best feeding areas with your marker float setup. It is hard-wearing and has high knot strength, which is key when you consider just how much punishment that your marker setup is subject to over the course of a year. The Marker braid is finished in a SUB-Green colour, to make it as unobtrusive as possible. There are 300m on each spool, so you’ll be able to spool up more than once, as long as you back your spool up. We recommend that you use a 30lb Arma-Kord shock leader to take the force of the cast; you can attach this using a back-to-back grinner knot.
Korda Spod Braid Korda Spod Braid

Korda Spod Braid This braid casts superbly well, thanks to its low diameter, allowing you to bait spots right at the limit of your casting ability. You’ll notice that it has a rather unusual fluoro green colour, which helps to deter seagulls when baiting up with a throwing stick or floater fishing. Gulls just won’t swoop down when the hi-viz line is snaking out across your swim. It is hard-wearing and has high knot strength, which is key when you consider just how much punishment that your spod setup is subject to over the course of a year. There are 300m on each spool, so you’ll be able to spool up more than once, as long as you back your spool up. Korda Anti Tangle Sleeves Korda Anti Tangle sleeves have been specially designed to reduce tangles, they also help to push the hooklink away from the lead. When using coated hooklinks such as Hybrid or fluorocarbons like IQ, the rig will work best when the hooklink is laid out straight and away from the lead system. By incorporating these sleeves in your set up you will increase the effectiveness of your rig which will help turn more bites into hooked fish.As with our 'Safe Zone' Leaders we have manufactured these sleeves in four different lakebed colours; Gravel, Weed, Clay & Silt. We have proved on the Underwater films that matching your components to the spot you are fishing will make a huge difference to your catch rates.

Korda Big Eye Swivel Korda Big Eye Swivel
£2.50

Korda Big Eye Swivels Adding to the range by popular demand these swivels have one very large round eye and one normal size one. As with all our swivels they come from the best Japanese manufacturers and have our trademark `anti glint` dull grey finish. THREE MAJOR USES Firstly they make very smooth running rigs when used as a replacement to the swivels found on the top of our leads. They were originally designed as part of the running rig kits. But after too many enquiries to mention we had to add them to the range. The second obvious use is for helicopter rigs. The large eye will rotate better if a large bead is used whereas a smaller swivel would bump around the larger beads circumference. In other words the large eye will slide effortlessly around it. They can also be used at the top of a link for the marker float - the large eye will allow the line to pull through that bit easier than a standard swivel. No doubt you will find other uses we have not even thought of yet.
Korda Boom 25lb 0.55mm Stiff Link Korda Boom 25lb 0.55mm Stiff Link sale
£8.99

Korda Boom 25lb Stiff Link Fluorocarbon Boom is a game-changing fluorocarbon! It’s the first fluorocarbon that can be crimped, which opens up a world of uses for rig tying. Its prime function is for creating stiff boom sections to help kick the hook bait away from the lead system, something Boom does each and every cast. You can use it to make combi-rigs, or out-and-out stiff rigs, for pop-ups and bottom baits alike. Your imagination is the only limit to its rig applications. Being a fluorocarbon, Boom blends with all lake bed types and, thanks to its subtle, green tint, it’s always inconspicuous to carp feeding around it. Boom is available in 0.55mm and 0.65mm, on 15m spools.

Korda Chod Swivel These size-eleven ring swivels have been subtly re-engineered to allow for putty to be securely moulded around the barrel. We’d noticed that most anglers used our size-11 ring swivels when making chod rigs, or the hook section of a hinged stiff rig. The team set about designing a swivel that would provide more purchase for the putty counterweight. These little beauties are the result…
Korda Choddy Hooks Korda Choddy Hooks
£4.25

Korda Choddy Hooks A hook designed to be incorporated with the popular chod rig or hinged stiff rig presentation. The pattern features an out-turned eye and the point is unbelievably sharp and reliable, retaining its sharpness in the most demanding conditions. Anglers such as Darrell Peck swear by this hook. They've literally taken waters apart using it, so get on it. Its dull, anti-glare finish blends it in with the surroundings ensuring that you won’t spook any passing fish. An absolute must for the avid stiff rig user. Due to the wide gape in the pattern, it creates extremely secure hook holds as the beaked point holds firm and doesn't twist and turn during the fight. A great hook. Learn how to incorporate this wonderful hook into your fishing by scrutinising the step by step sequence on the popular chod rig.

Korda Cog Kit A lead system that betters the hooking qualities of an inline, yet casts like a lead clip, with all its safety benefits? It doesn’t exist, right? Well, such a product is in tackle shops from tomorrow. After what seems like ages in the development, the COG system is finally here, in physical form. COG stands for Centre of Gravity, which is a reference to the unique way that the hook link is attached to the heaviest part of the lead, giving instant, unparalleled hooking. Put simply, this system has been designed to convert more pick-ups into fish on the bank. So, why did it take so long? Well, simply put, we tested it, tweaked it, changed it and then changed it back again across the space of a few years. The whole sampling process takes an awfully long time and because the end result had to work flawlessly, each stage was tested rigorously. Right through from early testing, to DVD sessions at Gigantica and intense scrutiny in front of the unblinking Underwater cameras, the COG has proven itself to be a genuine advantage. In order to truly take advantage of the unique attributes that the COG possesses, you need to be aware of its limitations. Crucially, it must be used with tubing or leadcore, and in testing we found that, although effective with more supple links, it is more suited to the stiffer hook links, such as IQ, Hybrid Stiff and N-Trap Semi Stiff. They help to eliminate tangles and kick that hook bait away from the COG, ensuring that a fish picking the hook bait up feels the full hooking impact of the system immediately. To aid the kicking-away process, we’d recommend that you give critically balanced ‘wafter’ hook baits a go with your stiff-rig setups. The one rig that stands head and shoulders above all others for use with the COG is Danny Fairbrass’ IQ D Rig. You only have to look at the Underwater filming to understand just how effective that pairing can be. When to use it then? Well, it’s best used over firm lake beds like gravel, sand and firm silt, rather than weed, when you’re better to reach for the Heli-Safe system. It can be cast every bit as far as a normal lead clip system, although when going for extreme range, it’s worth dispensing with any PVA bags as the impact could force the half-swivel out of the lead. For margin work and placing from boats, the COG is simply unrivalled. Initially, there are just two lead shapes available, flat pear and distance, which should cover you for most fishing situations. The flat pear version is best used for closer range, lowering or dropping from a boat, whereas the distance version is the one to reach for if you’re having to go long for your fish. One point well worth noting is that the COG boom sections are numbered (on the swivel) because it’s essential that they are used with the correct lead. If you use the wrong boom with the wrong lead, the setup simply won’t work as intended. We’ve had reports of great results from all those who’ve been able to use samples so far, and we’re excited to see how much of an impact the COG has on your angling too. We aren’t claiming that the COG is the answer to all your fishing problems, but it certainly does take bolt-rig technology forwards, while retaining the inherent safety of the lead clip. One thing’s for sure, it’s set to catch an awful lot of fish this year…

Korda Sinkers A compact hooklength weight made from heavy tungsten designed to slide onto your hook link and ultimately pin it to the lake bed to keep your hooklength out of the carp’s way. Simply place your hook link material through one of the Sinker sections and slide the weight on. Moistening the hooklength will allow it to slide much easier. The great thing about a Sinker is that it stays in position rather than flying off on the cast like putty may. Available in Safezone colours to camouflage into the lake bed and two separate sizes.

THERE ARE 2 TYPES The leader with a size 8 ring swivel on the end is best used with our inline leads lead clips running rigs and method feeders. Once wet all these types of lead system will easily slip over the tungsten collars and the welded loop at the end of the leader. When the leaders are dry products such as inline leads and method feeders will stick to the tungsten sections and you will think they are unsafe. However when wet they slip over them with ease and lets face it when underwater they`ll always be moist. Secondly there is the Hybrid Lead Clip Leader which feature the safest lead clip possible fixed into a swivel followed by a matching Tail Rubber. All the leaders have two lengths of tungsten melted onto them one third and two thirds of the way down the length to ensure the whole leader sinks to the lake bed on a slack line. Compare them to anything else on the market and it is blatantly obvious a great deal of thought has gone into them. We have made them in 1m lengths which is longer than the original versions.

Korda Extender Stops The Hybrid hair stop has been specially designed to hold your hook bait on the hair safely and securely. Also available are the Extenda-stops these little babies can be used to adjust the mechanics of your rig quickly and easily. On those days when bites are hard to come by or when you are getting takes but loosing fish subtle changes such as making the hair longer or changing the bait size can make a huge difference to your results. By using the different length stops it is easy to lengthen the hair or alternatively change the size of the hookbait from anywhere between 16mm & 24mm without having to tie a new rig - simple! As the shape of the Extenda stops it makes it very difficult for Crayfish to pull them off making them a must when fishing abroad on the shellfish inhabited waters.
Korda Flat Pear Swivel Leads Korda Flat Pear Swivel Leads
£1.50

Korda Flat Pear Swivel Leads The classic pear lead will cast a very very long way, almost as far as the Distance Casting and it is less affected by cross winds because the shape is very condensed. This means that the Pear lead is suited to most carp fishing situations when fishing anything up to the very limit of your casting ability. The dumpy shape can be used to your advantage in silt. Try using a very light pear lead say 1oz or 2oz and actually let the lead plug into the silt, this will dramatically increase the resistance to a moving carp so what feels like a light lead in your hand is transformed into a heavy lead in the fishing situation. Because the lead has a large rounded end it makes 'feeling' the lead hit the bottom easier than more slender or pointed shapes. If you are new to this technique this lead will make the job easier. If you don't know what we are talking about check out the carp mags they are always showing you to do it! We rely on it so heavily we couldn't leave the rig our there without 'feeling' the lead down to the bottom. The pear lead is also ideal in a solid PVA bag because it can be pushed down into one of the corners. This makes the bag nose heavy and so more accurate.
Korda Flexi Ring Swivels Korda Flexi Ring Swivels
£3.65

Korda Flexi Ring Swivel A tiny ring swivel was needed to complete the range and is ideal for creating a hinge in a stiff pop-up rig made famous by the great Terrence Hearn himself. That rig is regarded by many as a big fish rig and is usually fished as a single bait or over small amounts of offerings. We would couple it with our own Wide Gape pattern of hook and one of our small rig rings. Once the short stiff pop-up section is tied we recommend you pull it very tightly over the steam to take the angle out of the stiff material as it leaves the inside of the eye of the hook. This steaming makes that last section much straighter and the hook will then stand more upright ready for action. In more recent years the small ring swivels have been used on a new Rotary rig where the ring swivel is tied via the ring to end of the hook link. The point of a longshank hook is then slid through the eye of the swivel at the other end. The hook bait is usually sliding on a small rig ring between two float stops - the top one on the bend of the hook the bottom one half way down the shank. Fished in conjunction with a pop-up this rig is said to be almost impossible to eject and big fish men like Dave Lane have used it to great success.

Kiana Carp’s Goo A soak, a glug and a spod-mix additive, all rolled into one package. The cloud of attraction that comes off bait treated with Goo has to be seen to be believed, and this is one of the attributes that makes the Goo so revolutionary. The feeding triggers and flavour combinations housed in the mysterious liquid have been carefully tweaked to provoke a strong feeding response in carp, wherever they are in the water column. The Goo was developed by Loutjie Louwies in South Africa, where it has been used to great effect for many years, leading to the unlikely dominance of the South African national team in the FIPSed World Championships. The lads even gave England a beating in their own back yard, at Linear Fisheries, using the Goo! Loutjie’s close friend, and Carp Team England manager, Ian Huntington, has been given the secret recipes and now makes Goo for the UK market, under the Kiana Carp banner. A few casts with the Power Smokes in your spod or on your PVA bags will create the most unique cloud of smell, taste and colour and simply send fish into a frenzy around the area of your hook bait. The Bait smokes are slightly softer in colour, but just as effective and ideal for use in almost every situation. Having said that, a bottle goes a very long way! Let your imagination go wild. Soak pellets, mix with water to dampen groundbait to add a unique edge, add Bait Smokes to PVA on their own or doubled up with Power Smokes, soak skinned tigers, glug boilies; the list is long.
Korda Heli Safe Lead Release System Korda Heli Safe Lead Release System
£5.25

Korda Heli Safe Lead Release System Korda have been working on a solution to a problem that anglers been faced with for some time, how to safely and consistently discharge the lead when fishing with a helicopter setup. In order to be a true game-changing product, the Heli-Safe had to fulfill some important criteria… One such criterion was the ability to fish chod rigs at range. The heavy leads needed to fish at long range often become a problem once a fish is hooked. The combination of a very short hook link and large lead would often result in dropped fish. Likewise, venues that had been choked by weed often dictated that dropping the lead was paramount, something that just isn’t consistently possible with conventional systems. The demand from anglers to produce a drop-off lead system for use in these situations pushed us to develop the product you see before you. The Heli-Safe System enables you to drop the lead when the situation calls for it. When used in conjunction with our unique Helicopter Safety System and unique No-Trace Beads, you can fish a rotary-rig setup in situations that would have previously led to the loss of hooked fish. The system works by employing a pressure-release function, not seen in the angling world until now. The latched lead clip will open once a hooked fish pulls against the angler, allowing the lead to drop free. By threading a Barrel Bead onto the leader above the Heli Safe, you will prevent the lead from discharging, should you pick up weed or other detritus on the retrieve. Once engaged in battle though, the bead will simply pull down and allow the lead to discharge. The unique design enables the angler to choose when to drop the lead, and when to retain it. In situations where it’s not necessary to discharge the lead, a small plastic collar (which is supplied in the kit) can be fitted to fix the lead in place.

Korda Hybrid Clips The Hybrid Lead Clips have finally arrived after an extensive three-year testing and development period. This was necessary in order to ensure the clips performed at peak performance in terms of both fish safety and rig efficiency; an objective we feel we have achieved in full! The Hybrid lead clip design features an integrally moulded Ring Swivel ensuring that the swivel simply cannot pull free from its housing. This forces lead ejection in the event of it becoming jammed ensuring that carp can be landed easily in weedy snaggy conditions. The streamlined one-piece design means there are no fiddly locking pegs or hinges to worry about - just connect the leader to one end and the rig to the other! The up rated arm allows leads up to 5ozs to be cast safely even at extreme range and the clip is available in all four of the key translucent Safe Zone colours: weedy green and silt.
Korda Intelligent Backleads Korda Intelligent Backleads

Korda Intelligent Backleads Our latest addition to the range of Intelligent Backleads is now here in the form of a tiny, 0.25oz/7 gram version. Intelligent Backleads are designed to pin the line down, keeping it close to the lake bed between the angler and the baited area. At Korda we believe that line concealment is a vital aspect of successful carp angling and these will ensure that this is successfully achieved! The new versions are the smallest in the range and are perfect for subtle, close-in work. The backleads can be set to stay on the main line without dropping off or they can be set so that the backlead breaks apart when snagged in weed. The super-slick plastic attachment ensures that the backlead will glide easily down the line, dramatically decreasing the chance of movement at the rig end. Backleads are most effective over even, flat bottoms and are an excellent way of preventing a hooked fish from picking up your other lines.
Korda IQ 2 Hooklink Korda IQ 2 Hooklink

Korda IQ 2 Hooklink Mr Steve Renyard has to take the credit for this addition to the range. Steve has been smashing the living daylights out of his favourite syndicate water for some time now on Fluorocarbon hook links. When he started fishing for Team Korda we naturally sent him some IQ. His response was: “it's a little bit stiff for what I want”. IQ is meant to be stiff that's why we think it catches more carp than normal mono, but we are always interested in new ideas and ways of fishing so when Steve started to talk we listened. Steve says: “first and foremost I use fluorocarbon because of its invisibility. I am so concerned about the fishes ability to detect the rig I have taken to using the standard IQ in 25lb as an anti-tangle leader. I use it about 4 feet long coupled with a Square Pear or Tournament swivel lead on a lead clip. Using fluorocarbon as a hook link also helps stop the whole lot from tangling on the cast. In the water the rig is much harder to see than normal, which I think gives me an edge. I am now using Fluorocarbon mainline too in an attempt to hide my presence from the carp even further. At the moment I feel I am fishing 'at the top of my game' and results have been superb taking 11 thirties plus loads of other smaller ones in just 4 weekend sessions. I like a slightly softer material because of the way it comes to rest after a cast. In contrast to most other people I want there to be some play in the hook link so as the bait is taken the hook link has to tighten slightly. If the hook link is already straight the bait may not move enough to get into their mouth. I fish beds of boilies a lot and have watched fish feeding on a scattering of boilies. Big fish tend to approach a bait, up end, suck the bait in and the right themselves before moving on to the next bait. Having a longer hookl ink of about 12 inches (30cm) gives the hook bait the movement I think it needs for the fish to get the hook properly in their mouth. It has worked for me on these types of waters for some time and is probably my favourite rig. I call it the 'simple complicated rig' because of the way I set up the hook. Steve uses stringers a lot of the time because he thinks they actually cause the hookl ink to lay with more of a curve than a single hook bait alone. This is because the weight of the stringer makes it sink far quicker than a single hook bait; this extra weight stops the stringer from falling away from the lead as far as a single. The stringer obviously creates a pile of baits which we know will attract the carp in faster than a single alone and these baits will stay there until a fish eats them, whereas a PVA bag of pellets or groundbait can easily be dispersed by feeding fish. If you don't believe us then check out any of the underwater films. A stringer or PVA bag of boilies will cause even the stiffer Fluorocarbons to lay in more of a coil than a straight line but if you are not using a bag or stringer only the softer fluorocarbons like IQ Xtra Soft will create the same 'slack' in the hook link, this is why I prefer them. It means I know the hook link is how I want it whether I'm using a stringer or not. Danny adds: "another added advantage of the softer material is that the bait does act more naturally if that's what you want. This really comes into its own when fishing with the lighter breaking strains like the 10lb and 12lb. Couple either of these with small hooks like a size 10 Wide Gape or Long shank and a small bait like one grain of maize or a bit of a boilie and you have a hook bait which behaves more like a free offering. It also makes these lines perfect for zig rigs being thin, very hard to see and soft enough to work well with small hooks, stiff hook links and small hooks do not go together and you will get hook pulls on them".
