They primarily come in three distinct types, all featuring a durable Black Nickel finish for corrosion resistance in both freshwater and saltwater environments.

1. Standard Westin Split Rings

• Shape: Classic Round Split Ring.
• Finish: Black Nickel.
• Material: High-quality, durable metal for excellent strength.
• Available Sizes (Diameter): They are available in a wide range, typically from 4 mm up to 12 mm.
• Packaging: Usually sold in packs of 10 pieces.
• Use: A versatile connector for most lure and hook applications where a round split ring is desired.

2. Westin Oval Split Rings

• Shape: Elongated Oval.
• Finish: Black Nickel.
• Advantages: The oval shape is designed to keep the knot positioned at the rounded end of the ring (away from the split/opening), which provides a more secure connection and better distribution of stress and load, reducing the risk of the ring opening or deforming under pressure.
• Available Sizes (Diameter): Typically available in 6 mm and 8 mm sizes.
• Strength: The 6mm size is rated for approximately 27 kg (60 lbs), and the 8mm is rated for approximately 39 kg (85 lbs).
• Packaging: Usually sold in packs of 10 pieces.

3. Westin Power Split Rings

• Shape: Round (Extra Strong).
• Finish: Black Nickel.
• Key Feature: These are ultra-resistant, heavy-duty split rings designed for intense use, particularly for large predators like big pike and catfish.
• Available Sizes & Strength (Approx.):
  • 7 mm: Approx. 27 kg
  • 8 mm: Approx. 39 kg
  • 9 mm: Approx. 70 kg
  • 10.5 mm: Approx. 90 kg
• Packaging: Usually sold in packs of 8 or 10 pieces, depending on the size.

Note: Always use a good pair of split ring pliers (Westin also produces these) to easily and safely manage and replace split rings.
