Product Details and Uses

The Kinetic Bombarda Floating (also called Kinetic Bombette Floating) is a casting float that is part of the Bombarda fishing system, which allows anglers to use very light lures or flies with standard spinning gear and achieve long casting distances.

Key Features and Purpose

Type: Floating. This means the Bombarda float will remain on the surface of the water without sinking, regardless of how slow your retrieve is.
Purpose: To present a light lure or fly on the water surface or just below the immediate surface film. This is crucial when fish (like Sea Trout, Trout, or Bass) are actively feeding on the surface, or on warm summer evenings and during night fishing when fish tend to feed higher in the water column.
Casting Aid: Like all Bombarda floats, the Floating version is weighted and aerodynamically shaped to provide the necessary casting weight (e.g., 10g, 20g, etc.) to propel small, weightless baits a great distance.
Presentation: By keeping the float on the surface, it allows the angler to impart a very subtle, natural action to the small fly or lure trailing on a long leader behind it, without the lure being pulled down into deeper water.
Construction: Kinetic Bombarda floats are typically made from a lead-free ABS material. Many versions are marketed as “Non-Tangle” and come pre-rigged with essential components like beads and swivels to streamline the rig and minimize line tangles during the cast.

How it is Used

The Kinetic Bombarda is threaded onto the main line, followed by a bead and swivel. A long fluorocarbon leader is tied to the swivel, and the fly or light lure is tied to the end of the leader. The floating model creates a disturbance on the surface as it is retrieved, which can sometimes help to attract a strike from predatory fish.
