Sonik HeroX 3+1 Bite Alarm Set + Free Bivvy Light: The Ultimate Indication Ecosystem

The Sonik HEROX 3+1 Bite Alarm Set represents a monumental shift in value for the modern carp angler. Historically, high-end features like drop-back differentiation, adjustable sensitivity, and integrated lighting systems were reserved for premium price points. Sonik has shattered that barrier, offering a complete, technologically advanced indication system that includes three alarms, a multi-channel receiver, and a synchronized bivvy light—all in one package.

The HEROX alarms are built for the rigours of life on the bank. Each unit features waterproof shielded electronics housed in a rugged, compact casing designed to withstand torrential rain and damp conditions. With eight sensitivity settings, you can fine-tune your indication to ignore surface tow and wind or detect the slightest twitch from a wary winter carp. The Intelligent Mute Mode (I.M.M) is a standout feature for the tactical angler, allowing you to silence the head while you tension your bobbins, automatically re-arming itself once you are set.

The included HEROX Receiver is the command centre of your setup. It features four distinct channels with ultra-bright LEDs, a dedicated drop-back flashing indicator, and a vibration mode for those who prefer a stealthy approach. Perhaps the most innovative inclusion is the Automatic Bivvy Light. When synced to your alarms, this light activates the moment a fish moves, illuminating your bivvy instantly so you can find your shoes and headlamp without the usual midnight scramble.

Pro Tip from the Gerry’s Team

Pro Tip: To get the most out of the HEROX ecosystem, use the Nightglow™ LED function on your alarms to help you navigate your swim in total darkness, but set your Bivvy Light to a medium brightness. This ensures you aren’t “blinded” by the light when it triggers during a take, allowing your eyes to adjust faster to the dark bankside when you step out of the bivvy.

Examples of Where to Use

This system is designed for a variety of demanding angling scenarios:

Night Fishing on Large Pits: The 150m range and the automatic bivvy light are game-changers here. You can rest easy knowing that if a rod goes off, your entire environment will illuminate, giving you the best possible start to the battle.
Tactical Snag Fishing: The alarms feature tall integral snag ears and rod-friendly rubber inlays. Combined with the high sensitivity settings, you can detect the split-second a fish tries to reach a snag, allowing you to strike instantly.
Mobile / Short Session Angling: Because all units (alarms, receiver, and light) run on standard AAA batteries, it is incredibly easy to keep your kit “charged and ready” in your bag without worrying about specialized or expensive battery types.
Stealthy Canal or River Sessions: Use the vibration mode on the receiver and the silent mode on the alarms. This allows you to receive instant bite indication without alerting other anglers—or the fish in shallow water—to your presence.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Do the alarms sound different for a “drop-back” bite?

A: Yes. The HEROX system features dedicated drop-back differentiation. The alarm will emit a different tone and the LEDs will flash in a specific pattern to tell you immediately if the fish is running away or swimming towards you.

Q: How does the Bivvy Light sync with the alarms?

A: The light features six color channels. You simply pair the light to your HeroX alarms (it can register up to four alarms per channel). Once paired, you can set it to “Automatic Mode,” where it only turns on when an alarm is triggered.

Q: Is the wireless range affected by trees or foliage?

A: The 150m range is “line of sight,” but the HEROX electronics are designed to be robust. While heavy foliage or steep banks can slightly reduce range, the system is more than powerful enough for any standard UK or European fishing swim.

Q: Can I use the bivvy light independently?

A: Absolutely. You can switch the light to manual mode and use it as a standard high-quality bivvy lamp for reading or cooking, with three adjustable brightness levels to suit your needs.

Q: Are the batteries included in the set?

A: No, the set requires AAA batteries (2 per alarm, 3 for the receiver, and 3 for the bivvy light). We highly recommend using high-quality Alkaline or Lithium AAA batteries for the best performance and to prevent leakage during long-term storage.
