Product Details and Uses

• Model Name/Type: Prorex S Baitcast (PXS802XHFB-BS or PXS802XHFB-AS)
• Target Species/Technique: This rod has an Extra-Heavy (XH) power and is ideally suited for:
  • Monster Predator Fishing: Primarily targets large to very large Pike and other big predatory species that require heavy tackle.
  • Heavy Lure Applications: Perfect for casting and working large lures in the $120\text{g}$ class. This includes:
    • Large soft plastic swimbaits and shads.
    • Heavy jerkbaits and gliders (while the tip is fast, the power can handle these).
    • Other substantial lures used when targeting trophy fish.
  • Baitcasting Specific: The rod features a Trigger Grip reel seat, which is essential for securely mounting a baitcasting reel and providing the leverage needed for casting heavy lures and fighting powerful fish.
• Blank Technology: The construction is focused on strength and power conversion:
  • HVF (High Volume Fibre) Carbon: The blank utilizes Daiwa’s high-quality carbon fiber with a low resin content. In this heavy-duty model, the HVF provides a stiff, powerful, and tough blank capable of handling the strain of casting heavy lures and managing trophy catches.
  • Action: The rod has a Fast action, which means the top section is sensitive enough to transmit lure action, while the massive power reserve in the middle and lower sections is designed for casting maximum weight and controlling large, hard-fighting fish.
• Components and Ergonomics:
  • Reel Seat: Ergonomic reel seat with a baitcasting-style Trigger Grip for optimal casting and control leverage.
  • Guides: Equipped with high-quality guides, often Seaguide Guides with Zirconia Inlays (or Titanium Oxide on some versions), which are robust enough to handle the stress of casting heavy baits and the use of strong braided lines.
  • Handle: A combination Cork/EVA handle, providing a comfortable and secure grip for strenuous casting and fighting sessions.
  • Hook Keeper: Included for convenience when changing spots or storing the rod.
