Description
The Daiwa Wilderness Fly Rod is built upon a reputation for outstanding reliability and performance, and the 9′ 6pc #7 model represents the ultimate convenience for the traveling angler. While most rods in the Wilderness series are 4-piece, this specific model is a 6-piece travel special, breaking down into a remarkably compact size that fits easily into luggage, a backpack, or the overhead compartment of a plane.
The medium-fast action blank maintains the smooth casting delivery the series is known for, ensuring that despite the multi-section design, there is plenty of power to punch a line out in the wind. The #7 line rating designates this as a powerful rod, ideal for larger fish, casting heavy/wind-resistant flies, and sinking lines, making it perfect for reservoir, stillwater, and larger river applications where distance and control are paramount.
Product Details and Uses
This rod is purpose-built for the angler on the move. The six-piece configuration means portability is maximized, allowing you to take a high-performance 9-foot rod anywhere in the world. The #7 weight is robust enough to handle fast-sinking lines and big flies for pike or sea trout, yet its medium-fast action offers a level of sensitivity for presenting larger trout flies with accuracy. It is a fantastic all-round option for travel that prioritizes breaking power and the ability to handle demanding fishing situations.
