The 2024 Shimano Dialuna S90ML is the technical “all-rounder” of the premium JDM inshore range. While the longer models in the series are built for raw distance, the 9’0″ ML (Medium-Light) model is specifically tuned for the angler who demands a balance between casting range and surgical lure control. At Gerry’s Fishing, we recommend the S90ML for fishing estuaries, calmer coastal days, and scenarios where lure “feel” is just as important as the distance you can reach.

By utilizing Spiral X and Hi-Power X technologies, this rod remains incredibly light and stiff in the blank, yet the 6-28g rating provides a more sensitive tip that is perfect for working smaller surface lures and unweighted soft plastics.

Spiral X & Hi-Power X Construction: This elite carbon sandwich prevents the blank from twisting or “shimmering” during the cast. This is vital for the S90ML, as it allows you to maintain pinpoint accuracy even when casting lighter 6-10g lures into a crosswind.
Carbon Monocoque Handle: This hollow, one-piece carbon rear grip serves as a vibration amplifier. Because it is physically part of the blank, it transmits the “tick” of a lure hitting a rock or a subtle follow from a predator directly to your palm.
Precision Finesse Rating: The 6-28g range is the “sweet spot” for modern sea bass fishing. It has enough “whip” to launch light 7g patchinko-style lures, but enough backbone to firmly set the hook when using a 25g metal jig.
Fuji SiC K-Guides: These guides are angled to prevent “wind knots” when using thin PE braids. The Silicon Carbide (SiC) inserts are ultra-hard and smooth, reducing friction to help your lure fly further with less effort.
