Description
Shimano 24 Poison Adrena Casting 1610M 6’10” 7-21g 1+1pc – The Purest All-Round Performance
The 2024 Shimano Poison Adrena 1610M is the “Gold Standard” for versatile casting within the JDM range. At Gerry’s Fishing, we distinguish this 1+1 piece (Handle Joint) model as the purist’s choice. While the center-cut version offers portability, the 1+1 design ensures that the main blank is a single, uninterrupted piece of high-modulus carbon. This results in the most fluid action, maximum lifting power, and a level of sensitivity that is simply unreachable with a traditional 2-piece rod.
This 6’10” Medium (M) model is the ultimate utility player, designed to handle everything from jerkbaits and topwaters to Texas rigs and spinnerbaits with “scintillating” precision.

Core Performance Benefits
-
The 1+1 Advantage: By placing the joint at the handle, the “working” part of the rod—from the tip to the reel seat—is one continuous piece of carbon. This eliminates any “flat spots” in the bend and ensures that vibrations from your lure travel directly into the Full Carbon Monocoque handle with zero dampening.
-
Next-Gen Carbon Monocoque: The 2024 handle has been redesigned to be even more resonant. It acts as an acoustic chamber, magnifying the vibration of a lure’s blade or the “tick” of a perch hitting a jig, providing a level of feedback that feels almost like an electric shock.
-
Spiral X Core & UBD: Utilizing Ultimate Blank Design (UBD), Shimano has tuned this rod to be incredibly crisp. The Spiral X Core wrap eliminates blank twist, ensuring that when you aim for a tight spot under a bush, your lure lands exactly where you intended, every single time.
-
Refined All-Rounder: The 7-21g rating is perfectly suited for the modern predator angler. It has the finesse to work 7g jerkbaits with a slack line, yet the Medium power backbone allows you to set the hook firmly on a zander or pike.
-
Perfection CI4+ XT Reel Seat: This seat is designed for “palming.” It’s low-profile and ergonomic, ensuring your hand remains in constant contact with the resonant carbon blank, reducing hand fatigue during long, high-intensity sessions.
Gerry’s Pro Tip: If you primarily fish from a boat or have the vehicle space for a 176cm transport length, choose this 1+1 model over the 2-piece. The improvement in the “balance” and the “purity” of the action when playing a large fish is significant. It is truly the ultimate expression of what a Medium-power casting rod should be.
