The Sakura Stingray Dart 2.5 is a high-tech “Egi” (squid jig) designed to trigger aggressive strikes through rapid, erratic movement. While many jigs are designed for a slow, vertical hop, the Stingray Dart is engineered for a lateral “Darting Action.” With every snap of the rod tip, this lure zips side-to-side, mimicking a panicked shrimp or baitfish—a movement cephalopods find irresistible.

In keeping with Sakura’s environmental commitment, this lure features a front zinc alloy weight (0% Lead). It also boasts a sophisticated Magnetic Weight Transfer System, a rarity in squid jigs, which allows for incredible casting distances even in windy coastal conditions. Topped off with double premium BKK hooks and phosphorescent accents, it’s a lethal tool for both day and night sessions.

Where & How to Use It

The “Darting” Retrieve: This lure performs best with a “slack-line” twitch. By giving the rod a sharp upward or sideways flick and immediately dropping the tip, the jig will glide sharply to the left or right. This erratic “Z” path is what triggers the hunting instinct of a Squid.
Shallow Water & Harbors: At 9.6g and a slow sink rate, the 2.5 size is perfect for fishing over shallow kelp beds or around harbor structures. It stays in the “strike zone” longer than heavier jigs, giving slower-moving Cuttlefish a chance to grab it.
Night Eging: The phosphorescent Sakura eye and glow varnish are essential for night fishing. “Charge” the lure with a UV torch or headlamp before casting to create a glowing beacon that predators can track in the dark.
