Description

Garbolino Proxima 2S Pellet Waggler | 11ft (3.30m) 2-Section

Master the Mid-Water: The Ultimate Ready-to-Fish Waggler Powerhouse

When the sun is out and the carp are cruising high in the water, there is no more effective (or exciting) way to build a winning weight than the pellet waggler. Here at Gerry’s Fishing, we’ve seen the Garbolino Proxima 2S become a firm favorite for anglers who need a rod that can “slap” a float all day and then fold into a beautiful, fish-playing curve when a double-figure carp takes the bait.

Constructed from High Resistance (HR) and Improved Fiber Carbon, this 11ft (3.30m) blank is a masterclass in balance. It’s light enough to prevent fatigue during a frantic “cast-and-feed” session but has the progressive, semi-parabolic action needed to absorb the violent lunges of commercial carp right at the net. Unlike 3-piece rods, the 2-section design provides a much smoother action and allows you to keep the rod “ready-rigged” in your holdall for a 60-second setup.

Complete with a durable EVA handle and a secure tubular reel seat, the Proxima 2S is built for the rigors of modern match and pleasure fishing.

Where to Use the Proxima 2S Pellet Waggler

This 11ft model is the “all-rounder” for modern venues:

  • Commercial Carp Lakes: Specifically designed for fishing the upper layers of the water column during the warmer months.

  • Snake Lakes & Canals: The 11ft length provides pinpoint accuracy when you need to drop your float inches from a far-bank reed bed.

  • Large Open-Water Pools: The HR carbon blank gives you the “oomph” needed to punch a weighted waggler into a headwind to reach distant cruising shoals.

  • High-Tempo Match Days: The lightweight construction ensures you stay sharp and responsive even after five hours of constant casting.

💡 Gerry’s Pro Tip

“Pellet waggler fishing is all about rhythm. With the Proxima 2S, the 2-piece design means you can keep the rod pre-rigged. I always recommend using a slightly thicker main line—around 0.23mm to 0.25mm (6lb-8lb). The semi-parabolic action of this rod will protect your hooklengths, but that thicker main line acts as a shock absorber when you ‘slap’ the float on the surface to attract the fish. It’s a deadly combination!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose a 2-section rod over a 3-section?

For float fishing, a 2-section rod is almost always superior. It has fewer joints, which means a smoother bend (action) and less chance of “flat spots” in the blank. Plus, you can leave it rigged up in your bag so you’re the first one fishing on the bank.

Can this handle ‘double-figure’ carp?

Absolutely. While it is refined and lightweight, the High Resistance Carbon has plenty of power in the butt section to steer large fish away from snags and toward the net.

Is it suitable for light floats?

Yes. The tip is responsive enough to cast standard wagglers, though it really excels with loaded pellet wagglers in the 4g to 15g range.

Does it come with a case?

Yes, it is supplied with a quality Garbolino canvas case to keep the HR carbon blank and the guides protected during transport
