Pro Tip

When targeting fast-moving pelagics like mackerel or sea bass working bait balls near the surface, cast your 21g casting jig out, let it sink for a few seconds to reach the desired depth, and retrieve with a high-speed burn interspersed with sharp rod twitches. This erratic darting motion perfectly simulates an injured baitfish trying to escape, often provoking savage reaction strikes just as you speed up the retrieve.

Examples of Where to Use

• Rock Marks & Piers: Perfect for casting off coastal breakwaters, steep rocky headlands, and deep-water piers when targeting patrolling bass and pollock.

• Open Beach Surf & Estuaries: Excellent for punching through surf into breaking tidal rips where mackerel, sea bass, and bonito feed aggressively on whitebait.

• Boat & Kayak Spinning: Ideal for vertical or diagonal casting around shallow reefs, sandbanks, and surface feeding frenzies at sea.
