Solar Worldwide Foldable Flat Mat

For anglers who want dependable fish protection without extra bulk, the Solar Worldwide Foldable Flat Mat from Gerry’s Fishing gives you a straightforward, padded unhooking surface that folds down small and travels light. It strips fish care back to the essentials: a clean, cushioned surface to protect the fish during unhooking and handling, without the additional weight of walled sides or a full cradle frame.

Built with genuine cushioning to protect against hard or uneven ground, the Foldable Flat Mat is designed to pack down compactly, making it the natural choice for anglers who travel light, stalk multiple swims in a session, or simply don’t want to carry a bulkier cradle for every trip. It’s a sensible, no-compromise option for anglers who still take fish care seriously but prioritise portability.

Gerry’s Pro Tip

Fold and store the mat clean and fully dry between sessions rather than damp, since a folded mat packed away wet is one of the most common causes of mildew and odour building up in padded fish care kit.

3 Examples of How and Where to Use It

• Roving and Stalking Sessions: Its compact fold-down size suits anglers who move between swims and don’t want to carry bulky kit.
• Light-Tackle and Day Sessions: A sensible, no-fuss fish care solution for sessions where a full cradle would be more than you need.
• Backup or Second Mat: Useful to keep as a spare in the car or barrow alongside a main cradle for social or multi-angler sessions.

Is it durable enough for regular use?
Yes, it’s built from durable materials suited to repeated bank-side use despite its lightweight, foldable design.

Should I still wet the mat before use?
Yes, always wet any unhooking mat thoroughly before placing a fish on it, to protect its protective slime coat.
