Product Details and Uses

The #7/8 size specifically is built and balanced for that precise line weight, matched to the size of fish and casting demands typically associated with a #7/8 outfit, from delicate trout work at the lighter end of the range through to genuinely powerful stillwater and saltwater applications at the top.

The Greys Pace delivers class leading performance and style. Built from a die-cast aluminium frame with a bar-stock drag core, it combines strength, reliability, and light weight. The enclosed multi-pad disc drag system is smooth and consistent, offering dependable control and plenty of stopping power with fine tippet protection. A large-arbour, narrow-spool design promotes rapid line pickup and reduces memory, while generous porting ensures quick drying of line and backing. Modern looks, balanced performance, and practical value make the Pace an ideal choice for anglers who want refined performance without the premium price tag.

FAQs

What makes this specific size different from others in the range?
It’s built around its own stated length and weight rating (Greys Pace #7/8 Fly Reel), matched to a specific style of fishing rather than being a generic catch-all size.

Does this size share the same core technology as the rest of the range?
Yes, the blank/reel technology, materials and features are shared across the whole range; what differs by size is the casting weight, length or capacity, and therefore the technique and target fish it’s best matched to.
