Description
Nash Scope OPS CG Abbreviated Rods
The Scope OPS range has been expanded due to popular demand, with lighter test curves and ceramic guide (CG) models added across the line-up. These Abbreviated handle CG rods bring that extra choice to anglers who want the Scope OPS blank with ceramic ringing, available here in 3lb and 3.25lb test curves in both 9ft and 10ft lengths.
The 3lb was added with boat anglers in mind. Its softer action is built for playing carp directly below the boat, absorbing sudden close-range lunges, which is especially helpful with braided mainline. That lighter test curve also makes a better-balanced set-up for floater and zig fishing with lighter tackle. Ceramic guides give the most durable ring lining available, standing up to heavy braid and snag or shock leader knots.

Where To Use It
- Boat fishing — The softer 3lb action is designed to cushion lunges when playing carp right beside the boat.
- Floater and zig fishing — A lighter test curve balances better with the lighter tackle these methods call for.
- Braided mainline fishing — Ceramic guides resist wear from high-diameter braid and from snag or shock leader knots.
- Mobile, short-rod set-ups — Compact Scope length with a forgiving curve suits anglers travelling light.
Gerry’s Fishing Pro Tip: On floater and zig sessions, match your hooklink and mainline to the lighter test curve rather than overpowering it. The softer blank rewards balanced tackle and absorbs the lunges for you.
