Sticky Baits Krill Pellets – 2.3mm: Multi-Stage Attraction for Maximum Results

When it comes to high-quality nutrition and fish-pulling power, few ingredients can rival the natural profile of krill. At Gerry’s Fishing, we’ve seen the impact these baits have on catch rates across the country. The Sticky Baits Krill Pellets in the 2.3mm size are a masterclass in bait engineering, utilizing a unique two-stage coating process that ensures your baited area is active from the moment the pellets hit the water until they are fully dissolved.

The secret to these pellets is their layered delivery system. The outer coating is packed with pure krill meal; as soon as they are submerged, these fine particles break away and begin to “dance” through the water column. This vertical movement is a massive trigger, drawing fish down from the upper layers. Once settled, the second stage of the coating begins to leak a dense, deep-orange cloud of attractants that hugs the lake bed. This creates a highly concentrated zone of natural salts and amino acids that keeps fish rooted to your spot, hunting for every last morsel.

Where to Use Sticky Baits 2.3mm Krill Pellets

  • PVA Bag Work: The 2.3mm size is the perfect “gap-filler” for solid PVA bags. They pack down tightly, eliminating air pockets and creating a high-impact parcel of food that explodes into a cloud of attraction once the bag melts.

  • Method Feeder Fishing: With the addition of a small amount of liquid (like Sticky Baits Krill Sticky Syrupy), these pellets can be “balled up” or molded around a method feeder. They offer a more substantial alternative to groundbait while still breaking down quickly.

  • The “Sloppy Spod” Mix: Add these small pellets to a spod mix containing hemp and liquidized corn. The 2.3mm pellets will absorb the liquids and cloud the water, providing a varied texture that keeps fish feeding for longer.

  • Winter and Cold Water: Because of their high solubility and small size, these pellets are excellent for winter use. They provide maximum scent and visual attraction without overfeeding the fish when their metabolism is low.

Pro Tip from the Gerry’s Team

The “Wafter” Combo: To create the ultimate trap, try fishing a Krill Dumbell Wafter over a bed of these 2.3mm pellets and some finely chopped Krill Boilies. The pellets create a carpet of fine attraction, while the wafter provides a critically balanced hookbait that flies into the fish’s mouth the second they suck at the bait. For an extra boost, dampen the pellets with The Krill Liquid Liver a few hours before your session—it makes the orange cloud even more intense!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose 2.3mm over the larger 4mm pellets?

The 2.3mm version offers a much higher surface area relative to its volume, meaning the attraction is released faster. It also makes the fish work much harder to find every individual pellet, keeping them on the spot for a longer period compared to larger pellets that are eaten quickly.

How long do these pellets take to break down?

Breakdown times vary based on water temperature, but typically these 2.3mm pellets will begin clouding instantly and break down into a soft mush within 30 to 60 minutes. This ensures there is always a “scent trail” even after the physical pellets have been consumed or dissolved.

Can I use these pellets in a spod mix for river fishing?

Absolutely. They are fantastic for Barbel and Chub. The “bed-hugging” orange cloud is particularly effective in moving water, as it creates a long scent trail that leads fish directly back to the source of the bait.

Are these pellets oily?

While krill contains natural oils, these pellets are designed to be highly “active” rather than just oily. This means they perform exceptionally well in all water temperatures, including the colder months when high-oil pellets might struggle to release their attraction.
