Pro Tip: The 3mm tip of the Visi Wag 3 is the “Goldilocks” size for many match anglers. It is thick enough to support a larger bait like a piece of corn or an 8mm expander pellet without dragging under, yet thin enough to show delicate skimmer “bites” where the float just wobbles or sits slightly lower. If the light starts to fail, the 3mm diameter catches more ambient light than a 2mm tip, allowing you to stay in the session longer.

Examples of Where to Use

Mixed Fishery Sessions: Ideal for when you aren’t sure what you’ll catch. It is sensitive enough for roach and skimmers but has the backbone and visibility to handle larger carp and tench.
River Waggler Fishing: The hollow 3mm tip provides enough buoyancy to ride over surface ripples and small “boils” in the current, making it an excellent choice for trotting maggots or casters on slow-to-medium paced rivers.

The tips are fixed to ensure the structural integrity and perfect “dead straight” flight of the float. However, the base weights are interchangeable, which allows you to fine-tune the loading if you want more or less lead down on the line.

What is the benefit of a 3mm tip over the 2mm version?

Visibility and buoyancy. If you are fishing at 25 meters or more, a 2mm tip can be very hard to see, especially in “glare.” The 3mm tip is much easier on the eyes over long sessions. Additionally, it can support slightly heavier baits without the surface tension pulling the float under.

How should I attach this to my line?
