In modern carp angling, the ability to adapt and change your rig in seconds can be the difference between a quick bite and a missed opportunity. At Gerry’s Fishing, we understand that every knot is a potential weak point. The Korda Link Loops are a simple yet revolutionary terminal tackle component designed to replace the need for tying loops in the end of your hooklinks, providing a stronger, more reliable connection to your quick-change system.
By using a Link Loop, you can utilize high-strength knots like the Grinner or Palomar to attach your hooklink material. This is particularly beneficial when using monofilament, fluorocarbon, or coated braids, where standard loop knots can often slip or significantly reduce the breaking strain of the line. Their teardrop design and low-profile steel construction make them the perfect companion for PVA stick fishing.
Enhanced Knot Strength: Eliminates the need for “Figure-of-Eight” loops, allowing you to use superior knots that maintain the integrity of your hooklink material.
Quick-Change Compatible: Precision-sized to fit perfectly with Korda Kwik Links and both sizes of Stik Klips, enabling lightning-fast rig swaps.
PVA Stick Friendly: The ultra-slim, “drop” shape is designed to be pulled through the tightest PVA mesh (like Funnel Web Micromesh) using a baiting needle without snagging or tearing the mesh.
Stealth Finish: Treated with a specialized non-reflective coating to ensure they don’t glint in clear water, providing maximum camouflage on the lake bed.
Versatile Application: Ideal for everything from standard bottom bait rigs to sophisticated PVA stick presentations.

PVA Stick Presentations: Tie your hooklink to a Link Loop using a Grinner knot. Use a Stik Needle to pull the Link Loop through the center of your PVA stick. Then, simply clip the loop onto your Kwik Link for a perfectly centered, tangle-free presentation.
Fluorocarbon Rigs: Fluorocarbon can be notorious for “strangling” itself in loop knots. By using a Link Loop and a Palomar knot, you maintain the maximum breaking strain and invisibility of materials like IQ2.
Coated Braid Setups: When using stiff coated braids, creating a neat loop can be difficult. A Link Loop provides a smooth, solid hinge point that allows the rig more freedom of movement.
Fast-Paced Action: If you are “on the fish” and need to get a fresh bait out immediately after a catch, having pre-tied rigs on Link Loops allows you to unclip and re-clip in under 5 seconds.
The “Smooth Pull” Secret:
When pulling a Link Loop through a compressed PVA stick, always ensure your baiting needle is hooked into the rounded end of the teardrop, not the narrow end. This creates a much smoother passage through the mesh and prevents the Link Loop from twisting or catching on the fibers. For extra security, slide a small Tapered Sleeve or a 2mm section of silicone tubing over the Kwik Link once the Link Loop is attached—this locks everything in place and guarantees zero “lost” rigs on the cast!
Will these fit other brands of quick-change clips?
While specifically designed for Korda’s range (Kwik Links and Stik Klips), their universal teardrop shape means they are compatible with the vast majority of “hook” style quick-change clips on the market.
Are they strong enough for big fish?
Absolutely. Because they are made from high-grade steel and allow you to use a Grinner knot, the connection is actually stronger than a standard looped hooklink. They are more than capable of handling 40lb+ carp and even large catfish.
Why is the teardrop shape important?
The “drop” design ensures the knot sits perfectly in the narrow end, while the wider end provides a secure and easy-to-seat connection for the clip. This prevents the knot from sliding around and keeps the rig’s exit point consistent.
Do I need to use a sleeve with these?
It is highly recommended. Using a Korda Silicone Sleeve or Tapered Sleeve over the connection not only keeps the Link Loop securely on the clip but also acts as an anti-tangle boom, pushing the rig away from the lead during the cast.
