Key Features and Description
- Design and Purpose: This is a 60-inch brolly with side panels, providing more coverage than a traditional umbrella. Its primary purpose is to offer protection from the elements during short or overnight sessions, particularly for mobile anglers who don’t want to carry a bulky bivvy. It features a space-saving mechanism in its frame, which provides extra internal headroom and optimizes the usable space within the shelter.
- Frame and Construction: The brolly is built on a lightweight yet strong fiberglass frame. This material provides excellent tension to the fabric, ensuring a rigid and stable structure without adding significant weight. The fully taped seams and a sealed bell cap further enhance its weatherproofing.
- Waterproofing: The brolly is constructed from a robust 210D PU fabric with an impressive 10,000mm hydrostatic head. This high rating guarantees the brolly will keep you dry even in prolonged and heavy rain, providing reliable protection against the elements.
- Door and Front Panel: The brolly system features a highly versatile front panel that can be adapted to various conditions. It includes a two-way letter box style door, which can be used with either a solid fabric panel or a clear PVC window. The entire front panel can also be rolled up or completely zipped off to create an open-fronted day shelter, offering maximum versatility and airflow in warm weather.
- Stability and Security: The brolly is supplied with two storm poles featuring Avid Cams, which provide added rigidity and security in windy conditions. It also has four storm pole attachments and comes with a lightweight groundsheet and heavy-duty pegs to anchor the shelter firmly to the ground.
- Internal Space: Despite its compact design, the brolly is spacious enough to accommodate a bedchair and essential tackle, making it suitable for single anglers on overnight stays. The brolly also has rod straps on the front to secure your rods when you’re not fishing.
- Transport and Storage: The entire system packs down into a compact size and comes with a nylon storage sleeve, making it easy to carry and store.
