The Artic is all about “stealth and flow.” On a steady, slow retrieve, it tracks through the water with a wide, sweeping S-movement that creates a massive visual profile without the aggressive “thumping” of a traditional plug. Diving to a versatile 80cm, it sits perfectly in the strike zone for pike and zander patrolling mid-depths or rising from the bottom to intercept a meal.

“The Artic is a ‘reactive’ lure. While the S-curve is deadly, the real magic happens when you interact with it. Every few turns of the handle, give the rod tip a sharp, short ‘stab’ forward. This causes the Artic to ‘flank’—it will kick wide to one side, showing its full profile and reflecting any available light. This sudden change in cadence is usually the exact moment a following Pike decides to strike.”

Does it sink or float?

The Artic is a slow-sinking lure. This is a huge advantage because it allows you to ‘count it down’ to a specific depth before you start your retrieve, or let it sit suspended for a second during a pause.

Is it suitable for Bass fishing?

Yes! While marketed for Pike and Zander, the 127mm profile and 80cm depth make it an exceptional sub-surface lure for saltwater Bass, especially when they are feeding on larger baitfish like mackerel or herring.

How does it compare to the Axia Chunky?

The Chunky is taller and dives shallower (30cm), making it better for very weedy spots. The Artic is more slender, dives deeper (80cm), and has a wider, more fluid S-action.

What trace should I use?
