“The T1200 is a big rod for big jobs, but don’t be intimidated by it. Because it’s nearly 15ft long, the leverage is in your favor. When casting, use a slightly wider lead drop than usual. Let the length of the rod build up speed slowly through the arc, and you’ll feel that 25mm butt section kick in like a turbocharger at the end of the cast. It’s the ultimate ‘hit-it-as-hard-as-you-like’ rod.
