The Century Kompressor SS (Super Sport) is the heavyweight champion of the Kompressor series. Developed with direct input from the legendary world-record caster Danny Moeskops, this rod is a “stepped-up” version of the standard Kompressor S, specifically engineered for the most punishing sea angling environments. Whether you are winching double-figure Cod through heavy kelp, fighting the savage tides of the Bristol Channel, or launching large baits into a massive winter swell, the Kompressor SS provides the raw “grunt” required to dominate.

While the rod is immensely powerful, the design brief focused heavily on maintaining a smooth, effortless casting feel. It retains the user-friendly “C curve” compression in the upper tip but reinforces the lower barrel of the tip and the butt section to create a true rough-ground specialist. This is a rod for the serious angler who refuses to be limited by the conditions.

The Baited Payload: The Kompressor SS is at its absolute best when it’s “loaded.” While it will cast a 5oz lead a long way, its true potential is unlocked when you move to a 6oz or 7oz lead plus a large bait. The “Gearbox” butt section is designed to take that weight and “sling” it with very little physical effort compared to a traditional stiff beachcaster. For the ultimate setup, we recommend using the Century Carbon Reducer (available separately); it adds that extra bit of leverage for high-power casting styles and helps you keep the tip high when playing fish over distant ledges
