Product Details and Uses

Dynamite Baits Marine Halibut Pellets are engineered to deliver a highly concentrated, oil-rich food signal that draws specimen fish in from a massive radius. Packed with high-powered marine oils and Super G pre-digested fishmeal, these premium pellets are loaded with all the essential amino and fatty acids required to trigger intense feeding responses in massive fish.

Designed with a high-density structure, these pellets break down slowly in the water column. As they dissolve, they leak a heavy, continuous cloud of soluble fish proteins and attractants along the lake or river bed without breaking up into fine mush instantly. Available in an incredibly comprehensive range from micro 3mm feeding pellets up to massive 21mm hookable variants, they offer total versatility for any specimen approach.

Detailed Specifications

  • Base Mix: Premium Super G pre-digested fishmeal, marine oils, and essential amino/fatty acids

  • Attractor Profile: High-oil marine halibut concentrate

  • Breakdown Rate: Slow, controlled breakdown designed to prolong feeding activity

  • Size Range Available: 3mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 14mm, 16mm, and 21mm

  • Packaging: Supplied in handy 1kg bags

Where to Use

  • Specimen Barbel and Chub River Fishing: The ultimate choice for large UK river venues like the Trent, Severn, and Wye. The high-oil content cuts through fast-flowing water, creating a powerful, long-range scent trail that fish can easily trace back to your source.

  • Big Pit Carp Campaigns: An exceptional addition to any heavy spod mix or particle carpet. The varying breakdown times of different sizes keep carp rooting around the spot for hours.

  • Catfish and Specimen Bream Tactics: The larger 14mm to 21mm sizes are incredibly effective for building a heavy, high-protein bed of bait to attract and hold large catfish and specimen bream herds.

Pro Tip

Create a stepped breakdown feeding zone by mixing three different sizes of Marine Halibut Pellets in your bucket—such as 4mm, 8mm, and 14mm. When you feed your spot via a dropper, PVA bag, or spod, the 4mm pellets will dissolve rapidly to create an instant cloud of high-oil attraction. The 8mm pellets will take over an hour later, and the massive 14mm baits will remain completely intact for hours. This ensures you always have hard, substantial food items sitting on the bottom right next to your hookbait, without needing to constantly re-feed and risk spooking wary fish.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do these pellets take to completely break down?

Breakdown times depend heavily on water temperature and size. In typical summer water conditions, the smaller 3mm and 4mm pellets will break down in approximately 30 to 45 minutes, creating a fast attraction cloud. The mid-sizes (6mm to 10mm) will last between 1 to 3 hours, while the massive 14mm to 21mm specimens will comfortably resist breakdown for up to 4 to 6 hours, making them excellent choices for long-duration traps or hair-rigging.

Can the larger sizes be drilled out for hair-rigging?

Yes, absolutely. The 14mm, 16mm, and 21mm versions are solid enough to be carefully drilled using a standard nut drill or bait drill. Because they are highly packed with pre-digested fishmeals and dense oils, they won’t crack or split apart easily like cheaper, less dense pellets when drilled, allowing you to use them directly as high-attraction hookbaits.

Are these pellets suitable for winter fishing?

Because Marine Halibut Pellets feature a very high concentration of pure pellet oil, they are at their absolute peak performance during the spring, summer, and autumn months when warm water accelerates oil release. In freezing winter conditions, the heavy oils can congeal and slow down the scent trail. For deep winter sessions, we recommend scaling down to the smaller 3mm or 4mm sizes, or lightly pre-soaking them in a water-soluble liquid food rather than heavy oils.
