Gerry’s Top Tip: If you find yourself fishing on particularly hard or “baked” banks in the summer, don’t try to force the bank stick in by the thread—this can damage the screw head. Instead, use a dedicated bank stick mallet or a small amount of water to soften the ground first. To keep the thread in perfect condition, a tiny drop of multi-purpose oil once a season will prevent any grit from seizing your accessories
