Elevate your river game with the Garbolino Multigrip River Feeder Roost, the ultimate tool for taming fast-flowing waters. When you’re faced with a powerful river like the Trent, Severn, or Wye, keeping as much line out of the water as possible is the key to seeing those delicate bites and preventing the current from dragging your feeder out of position. This specialized support is designed specifically to hold your rod at a high vertical angle, providing the stability and height needed for serious river feeder work.
By Gerry’s Fishing, we know that the “Multigrip Open System” is the real star here. Forget the frustration of having to strip half your seatbox accessories off just to add a rod rest. This system features a heavy-duty, hinged clamp that snaps directly onto your leg at any height. Once locked, it is rock-solid, ensuring your rod stays steady even when a powerful barbel or a slab of a bream decides to take your bait.
High-Angle Articulation: Features an additional articulated arm that allows for extreme vertical positioning, which is vital for reducing line drag in heavy currents.
Multigrip Open System: The hinged “snap-on” clamp allows you to attach or remove the roost instantly without disturbing other seatbox accessories like side trays or keepnets.
Anti-Slip Stability: Designed to stay exactly where you put it. The robust locking mechanism ensures that even under the weight of a long 13ft or 14ft power feeder rod, the arm won’t “droop” or slip.
Universal Fitting: Comes with a set of internal sleeves, making it compatible with all major seatbox leg profiles.
Compact & Lightweight: Despite its strength, it is surprisingly light and fits easily into a standard accessory bag or carryall.

Tidal Rivers: When the tide is pushing hard and debris is coming downstream, getting your rod tip high keeps your line above the “trash” and reduces the pressure on your quiver tip.
High-Banked Venues: On venues where you are sat several feet above the water level, this roost allows you to angle the rod down into a secure position while still maintaining a high tip height.
Flood Water Conditions: Essential when the river is in the fields. The extra height helps keep your line clear of near-bank vegetation and bushes that have been submerged by rising water.
Long-Range Feeder Work: When casting 60m+ on large rivers, the vertical angle helps create a more direct line of sight to the feeder, improving bite detection significantly.
💡 Gerry’s Pro Tip
On fast-flowing rivers, don’t just point your rod “up”—point it slightly downstream as well. By using the articulation of the Multigrip arm to angle the rod downstream at about 45 degrees, you create a “bow” in the line. This bow acts as a shock absorber; when a fish hits, the line pulls out of the bow before hitting the rod tip, which prevents the fish from feeling immediate resistance and dropping the bait. It’s a classic river tactic that works perfectly with this adjustable roost!
Q: Will this fit my 30mm round legs?
A: Yes. The Multigrip system is designed to be universal. It fits 36mm legs directly, and by using the provided inserts, it locks perfectly onto 25mm and 30mm legs with zero movement.
Q: Can I use this for a second rod?
A: While it is designed as a primary rod support for river fishing, many anglers use it on a rear leg as a “high-rest” for a spare rod, keeping it safely out of the way of their main shipping area.
Q: Is it strong enough for heavy barbel rods?
A: Absolutely. The reinforced alloy frame is designed to support 13ft and 14ft heavy-duty river feeder rods without flexing, even when you’re using heavy 4oz+ feeders.
Q: Does the “open” clamp really stay secure?
A: Yes. The Multigrip system uses a heavy-duty screw-down bolt that applies pressure across the entire surface of the leg. Once tightened, it is arguably more secure than traditional “slide-on” accessories.
