Gerry’s Rotten Bottom Clips are an essential piece of specialized terminal tackle designed to allow anglers to fish effectively over the snaggiest, roughest ground without fear of losing their entire rig. These clips are the core component of a rotten bottom rig, a system that is engineered to detach the sinker when it becomes snagged, saving the rest of your rig and your catch.

The system relies on attaching the sinker to the clip with a section of weak link monofilament. When the lead snags, applying tension to the line breaks the weak link, allowing the angler to reel in the entire rig (including the fish, if hooked) while ditching only the snagged lead.
