Product Details and Uses

The Korum Neoteric LC 6500 Reel is built for big-fish tactics, distance casting, and demanding venue conditions. Combining classic aesthetics with modern long-cast technology, this compact powerhouse delivers exceptional line management, winding power, and casting stability whether you are punching heavy feeders into open water or targeting barbel on fast-flowing rivers.

Built around a smooth LC oscillation system and a balanced rotor, the Neoteric LC wraps both monofilament and braided mainlines with total precision. The anodised aluminium LC taper spool features an angled lip design that drastically reduces friction during the cast, letting line peel away effortlessly to reach far-off spots. Equipped with a powerful 4.7:1 gear ratio, a responsive quick-drag mechanism for instant tension adjustments, and oversized line-friendly clips, it is an ideal engine for specimen and distance setups.

Technical Specifications

Model Size: 6500
Line Capacity: 0.35mm / 350m
Weight: 445g
Gear Ratio: 4.7:1
Spool Type: Anodised aluminium LC taper spool
Drag System: Quick Drag mechanism for rapid adjustment

Pro Tip When targeting big fish at range, utilize the quick-drag system to its full advantage. Set the drag relatively loose while the rod sits on the rests to prevent a aggressive bite from pulling your tackle into the water. Upon striking, a simple quarter-turn of the front drag knob instantly engages full fish-playing resistance to keep you in total control.

Ideal Applications & Use Cases

Distance Feeder & Method Tactics: Designed for punching heavy Method, Hybrid, and cage feeders to open-water spots on large commercial lakes and reservoirs.
Specimen River Angling: Excellent choice for barbel, chub, and carp on powerful rivers where heavy lead weights and high-capacity mainlines are required.
Big-Fish Commercial & Natural Venues: Built to manage heavy monofilament and low-stretch braided mainlines with ease when targeting double-figure carp and bream.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of the LC taper spool?

The tapered lip profile allows line to leave the spool with minimal resistance and line slap, which significantly improves overall casting distance and accuracy.

Does this reel handle braided mainlines well?

Yes. The LC oscillation system ensures exceptionally flat line lay, preventing thin braid from bedding in under pressure during heavy retrieves.

Are extra spools available for this reel?

Yes, dedicated Korum Neoteric LC 6500 spare spools are available in both shallow (for fine braid/mono) and deep options for heavy line applications
