Is the 10XN size big enough for standard UK boat fishing?

Absolutely. The “XN” denotes an extra-narrow spool. While it holds slightly less line than a wider equivalent, 300m of 0.29mm braid is more than enough for the vast majority of UK boat fishing scenarios, and the narrow profile means you don’t have to use your thumb to manually lay the line back onto the spool during a fight.

Can I use braided line straight onto the spool?
