The PENN Vantage 8000 Spod Reel is a purpose-built big pit reel engineered to handle the demanding tasks of spod and marker float fishing for carp. It’s a reliable powerhouse designed to deliver everything you need for these specialized techniques, all wrapped in PENN’s renowned build quality.

This reel is specifically geared for spodding with a fast 5.2:1 ratio, providing an impressive retrieval speed of 124cm per crank. This rapid retrieve minimizes downtime, allowing you to get your spods and floats back in quickly. The X-Slow Leveline oscillation system ensures perfect line lay, which is further aided by three large, round line clips for consistently accurate casting to your chosen spot.

The reel’s body is constructed from lightweight yet incredibly rigid XRC material, giving it the strength to handle heavy spod work without compromise. The single machined aluminum handle features an egg-shaped knob, providing a comfortable and secure grip for extreme cranking. To keep costs down for the angler, this reel does not include a spare spool.
