The Sakura Loujig ZN in the 72mm, 30g configuration is arguably the most versatile size in the entire casting jig range. This “sweet spot” weight allows for massive casting distances from the shore while remaining light enough to be worked with high-frequency “finesse” animations from a boat. Like its larger 40g sibling, it is crafted from Zinc Alloy, making it a 100% lead-free, environmentally responsible choice that offers superior durability against the shocks of rocky sea beds.

The secret to its success is the Asymmetrical Profile, featuring one nearly flat face and one slightly curved face. This geometry allows the lure to cut through the water with an oscillating swim on a straight retrieve and a dramatic “butterfly” fluttering action on the sink.

Zinc Alloy Hardness: Being harder than lead, the Loujig ZN does not deform when hitting rocks or being crushed by the jaws of powerful fish like Dentex or Bluefish. This ensures the lure maintains its hydrodynamic profile for the life of the product.
Butterfly Descent Action: During the “stop” phase of your retrieve, the asymmetrical balance causes the jig to fall horizontally while oscillating from side to side. This creates a massive amount of “flash” from the holographic film, mimicking a dying baitfish.
UV & Phosphorescent Integration: Designed to fish effectively from the surface down to approximately 3.5m–5m, the Loujig uses UV-reactive colors to stay visible in bright sunlight and phosphorescent accents to remain a target in low-light or deeper water.
Tactile Vibrations: On the “pull” or “jerk” phase of the animation, the Loujig produces strong lateral movements and vibrations that are easily felt through the rod tip, giving the angler total control over the lure’s presence.

Where & How to Use It

Shore Jigging All-Rounder: At 30g, this lure is the perfect match for Medium (M) or Medium-Heavy (MH) rods. It’s the ideal tool for targeting Sea Bass, Mackerel, and Garfish from piers, beaches, or rocky outcrops.
Light Vertical Boat Work: Use it when fishing over shallow reefs or sandbanks. The 30g weight is perfect for staying vertical in light tides while maintaining a very natural, “non-aggressive” profile.
The “Jig & Pause” Method: Rip the jig upward with two or three sharp jerks, then let it fall on a completely slack line for two seconds. The “butterfly” flutter on the drop is when most predators will inhale the lure.
Murky Water Specialist: Go for the UV-reactive or High-Contrast colors like ‘Pink Head’ or ‘Orange Gold’ when the water is stirred up after a storm; the internal flash and UV pop will help predators find the target.

“The 72mm 30g is my ‘banker’ lure for Sea Bass. Because it’s made of zinc, it has a slightly slower sink rate than a lead jig of the same weight, giving the fish more time to see that beautiful fluttering action. I recommend using a Sakura Ryokan 8′ MH rod with a size 3000 or 4000 reel. If you’re missing a lot of strikes, try adding a Sakura Assist Hook to the front eyelet—it significantly increases your hook-up rate on the fall!
