The Sakura Mitsio Jigging 60 is the “tactical” sibling of the Mitsio range. While slightly longer and more flexible than the 80lb model, this 5’7″ (1.70m) single-strand rod is designed for anglers who need a balance of raw power and technical “feel.” It is the ideal tool for targeting Amberjack, Snapper, African Pompano, and medium-sized Tuna in depths of 50 to 120 meters.

Built with a high-performance hybrid of Mitsubishi Japan IM30T carbon and a fiberglass composite tip, the Mitsio 60 offers a “soft” action that brings your jigs to life without exhausting the angler. This 1-piece construction ensures a flawless power curve, meaning there are no weak points when a predator decides to dive back into the reef.

Slow Pitch & Long Jerk: The extra 2 inches of length compared to the 80lb model gives you more “spring,” which is perfect for slower, more technical jigging styles in the Mediterranean or the Tropics.
Live Baiting: While it’s a jigging specialist, the fiberglass tip makes it an excellent “stand-up” rod for drifting live baits (like squid or small mackerel) for Dentex or Seriola.

“The Mitsio 60 is my ‘workhorse’ for tropical trips. It’s a bit more ‘forgiving’ than the 80lb version, which makes it much more comfortable if you’re jigging for 6 to 8 hours a day. I pair this with an 8000 or 10000 size high-speed reel and PE 4 or 5 braid. Because of that fiberglass tip, you can really make the jig ‘dance’—try a ‘short-short-long’ rhythm with your jerks.
