Product Details and Uses

The Savage Gear Revenge SG4 Pelagic Vertical Casting Rod is built for vertical jigging and pelagic species work, a compact 6’6″ casting rod rated to a genuinely serious 25-60g, designed for anglers working jigs vertically from a boat for open-water pelagic species rather than standard shore or bank casting applications.

Vertical jigging for pelagic species demands a rod with real backbone and direct power transfer, since the technique relies on repeated lifts and drops of a jig rather than casting distance. This rod’s compact length and genuine 25-60g casting weight capacity are built specifically for that demanding, repetitive lifting work, giving you the authority to work jigs effectively and control fish once hooked.

25-60g casting/jig weight range

Why Choose This Range

This is a dedicated vertical jigging tool rather than a general casting rod, built for anglers targeting pelagic species from a boat where working a jig up and down through the water column, rather than casting distance, is the technique that actually catches fish.

3 Examples of How and Where to Use It

Vertical Jigging for Pelagic Species: Purpose-built power and length for repeated lifting and dropping of jigs from a boat.
Boat-Based Open Water Fishing: The compact length suits the confined space of a boat cockpit during vertical work.
Anglers Using Baitcasting Reels for Jigging: Casting-specific guide layout properly complements a baitcasting reel setup.

FAQs

Is this rod suitable for casting from shore?
It’s built specifically for boat-based vertical jigging rather than shore casting technique.

What species suit this rod?
Pelagic and open-water predator species targeted through vertical jigging technique from a boat.
