Product Details and Uses

Sonubaits Robin Red Feed Pellets (900g)

There are very few ingredients in the fishing world that carry as much legendary status as Haith’s Robin Red®. Known for its deep red color and unmistakable peppery aroma, it has been a “bank-side essential” for decades. By infusing high-quality, low-oil fishmeal pellets with this potent attractor, Sonubaits has created a feeding pellet that fish simply cannot ignore.

The Sonubaits Robin Red Feed Pellets offer a unique “spicy” profile that triggers a deep feeding response in carp, barbel, and bream. Because they are a low-oil pellet, they are highly effective all year round, releasing their attractors just as efficiently in the depths of winter as they do in the height of summer.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Original Robin Red® Infusion: Loaded with the genuine peppery spice and coloring that has made Robin Red a world-class carp attractor.

  • Low-Oil Fishmeal Base: Designed to be highly digestible. The low oil content ensures the pellets break down and release attraction even in the coldest water temperatures.

  • High-Contrast Visual: The deep red color creates a distinct “patch” on the lake or river bed, acting as a visual beacon for passing fish.

  • Versatile Sizing: Available in standard feed sizes for loose-feeding and larger pre-drilled versions for use as a secure hookbait.

  • Multi-Species Appeal: While legendary for carp, the spicy/salty profile is a proven winner for big barbel on rivers and quality bream on natural venues.

How to Use Robin Red Feed Pellets

  • The “Spicy” Method: Use the 2mm pellets on a Method or Hybrid feeder. The red color provides a brilliant contrast against green or dark groundbaits, making your feeder stand out.

  • PVA Bag Mixes: These pellets are 100% PVA-friendly. Mix the 2mm and 4mm sizes in a solid bag for a concentrated burst of red attraction right next to your hookbait.

  • River Roving: The 4mm and 6mm sizes are perfect for “little and often” loose feeding on rivers when targeting Barbel and Chub. The peppery scent travels long distances in the flow.

  • Specimen Hookbaits: Use the 8mm or 14mm pre-drilled versions on a hair rig. They provide a hard-wearing, high-attract hookbait that matches your loose feed perfectly.

Gerry’s Pro Tip

“At the shop, we call Robin Red the ‘confidence booster.’ If you’re fishing a venue that’s been hammered with standard ‘brown’ fishmeal pellets, switching to the spicy red stuff can be the ‘eureka’ moment. My top tip: Try the 2mm size in your margin mix. When carp start rooting around in the edge, they create a massive red cloud that keeps them focused on the bottom. If you’re on a river, don’t be afraid to soak them in a bit of Robin Red Liquid to make that peppery scent trail even stronger!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are these pellets safe for the winter? A: Absolutely. Unlike high-oil halibut pellets which can ‘seal’ in cold water, these low-oil pellets are designed to leak attraction and remain digestible even when the water temperature is in the low single digits.

Q: Do the 2mm pellets stick to a Method feeder? A: Yes, but they need proper preparation. Soak them for about 2 minutes, drain the water, and let them stand for 15-20 minutes. They will become tacky enough to mold perfectly around a feeder.

Q: Will the red color stain my hands? A: Robin Red is a powerful natural dye. While it’s safe for the fish and the environment, it can give your fingers a pinkish tint if you’re handling them all day. A quick wash with soap usually does the trick!

Q: Can I mix these with other pellets? A: Definitely. A 50/50 mix of Robin Red and Fin Perfect Stiki Pellets is a favorite among match anglers to create a ‘multi-colored’ carpet of feed that offers both fishmeal and spicy attraction
