The Sufix 131 G-Core is much rounder than any other competitor’s 12 or 16 carrier braid. The rounder line reduces the resistance in water (while retrieving) and the abrasion caused by rod guides and obstacles in the water. The core fiber (GORE® Performance Fiber) prevents the line from internal fraying, making the line more durable. A rounder line casts farther, more silent, and more accurate. The cancelled center hole does not allow water to enter—no water means a lighter line and longer casting distances. Yes, in terms of roundness and smoothness. An 8-strand braid can sometimes flatten out under pressure; the 13-strand G-Core stays perfectly round because the 12 outer fibers have a solid core to wrap around.

Does it require special knots?

While it is “slicker” than 4-strand braids, the higher fiber count actually helps knots “bite” better. A standard Palomar or FG Knot works exceptionally well, as the GORE core prevents the knot from collapsing or opening under stress.

Will the Green color fade?

Like all PE lines, some color loss will occur over time. However, the 131 G-Core uses a high-quality dyeing process, and because the line doesn’t absorb water into its core, the color stays “locked” into the fibers longer than hollow-core braids.
