Material: Made from a buoyant TPR-style plastic (Thermoplastic Rubber).
Function (Buoyancy): Their primary purpose is to add buoyancy to the hook and bait. This serves several functions:
- Anti-Crab Protection: They lift the bait slightly off the seabed, placing it out of the immediate reach of nuisance species like crabs.
- Enhanced Presentation: They allow the bait to waft and move naturally in the tide/current, giving it an attractive, lively presentation that bottom-feeding fish find irresistible.
