The Tronixpro Round Beads – 8mm are the largest size in the standard range, designed primarily for heavy-duty rig protection and maximum visual attraction.¹

Primary Uses for 8mm Beads

The 8mm size is predominantly used for situations requiring maximum visibility and shock absorption:

Heavy-Duty Buffer Beads: This is their most common and critical use. They are placed on the main line to act as buffers, especially when using large, heavy-duty sliding components like Tronixpro Zip Sliders or Ledger Booms in boat fishing or shore fishing with large leads.⁷ Their size provides excellent cushioning to protect knots and swivels from the shock of the sliding component impacting the rig.
High Visual Attraction (Attractors): The large size and bright or luminous colors are used specifically as powerful visual attractors near the bait.⁸ The Black/Green mixed 8mm pack is often highlighted as an ideal combination for attracting species like Plaice while drift fishing.⁹
Bulky Stops: They can be used as bulky stops in rigs where the components being secured are particularly large and require a wide surface area to prevent movement.
