Product Details and Uses

The Kinetic Bombarda Slow Sinking is a type of casting float designed for a specialized fishing technique called Bombarda fishing (also known as Bombette fishing or sometimes Spirolino fishing).

This tackle item is primarily used to achieve long casting distances with very light, almost weightless lures or flies.

Key Features and Purpose

Type: Slow Sinking (often referred to as Intermediate). This buoyancy profile means the float sinks very slowly once it hits the water.
Purpose: To present a lure or fly at a consistent, slow-sinking depth in the water column and retrieve it slowly over a long distance. The slow sink rate is ideal for targeting fish that are feeding just below the surface or mid-water.
Target Species: Highly popular for Sea Trout fishing on the coast, but also used for trout in lakes and rivers, and for Bass when they are feeding on small baitfish.
Casting Aid: The Bombarda float itself is weighted (available in various weights like 10g, 15g, 20g, etc.) and is shaped aerodynamically for long-distance casting. This allows you to cast tiny, light lures (like flies or small soft baits) far out, which would be impossible with standard spinning gear alone.
Rigging: The main line threads through the central tube of the float. This is followed by a bead, a swivel, and then a long leader (often 1.5m to 3m) that connects to the small lure or fly.
Kinetic Specifics: The Kinetic Bombarda models are often made from a lead-free ABS material and some versions are branded as “Non-Tangle,” meaning they are pre-rigged with beads and swivels to minimize tangles during the long cast.

Buoyancy Types

The “Slow Sinking” version is one of four common Bombarda types, each designed for a different water depth:
