Because it’s a carbon composite rod with a graphite reel, it’s very light, but saltwater is still the enemy. After every trip, give the whole setup (including the line on the spool) a thorough rinse with fresh water. Also, since it comes with mono, remember that mono has a bit of ‘stretch’—this is actually great for beginners as it helps prevent you from pulling the hook out of a fish’s mouth!”
