When the bass are feeding on small prey at a distance, you need a lure that combines ballistic casting with an irresistible “dying baitfish” shimmer. The Sakura Eskast ZN is a high-performance casting jig specifically engineered to bridge the gap between a standard metal and a refined lure.

Crafted from a Zinc alloy (0% Lead), the Eskast ZN is harder and less dense than traditional lead jigs. This allows for a larger profile relative to its weight, providing a bigger visual target for predators without sacrificing its “bullet-like” casting properties. The asymmetrical profile is the secret to its success; on the drop, the lure doesn’t just sink—it flutters and vibrates erratically, mimicking a wounded prey item perfectly. Finished with a reinforced varnish and high-intensity holographic film, this jig is built to withstand the rigors of salt, sand, and sharp teeth.

Where to Use the Eskast ZN

Surf Fishing for Sea Bass: This is the primary weapon for the beach angler. The 25g weight and aerodynamic shape allow you to punch through onshore winds to reach the “white water” where Bass are actively hunting.
Shallow Water Versatility: Because Zinc is less dense than lead, the Eskast ZN sinks slightly slower. This makes it lethal in shallower water (1m – 3m) where a traditional lead jig would snag the bottom too quickly.
Working the “Drop”: Use this jig over reef edges or steep drop-offs. The asymmetrical design ensures it “hunts” on the fall—most hits will come the second you stop the retrieve and let it flutter down.
Low Light & Murky Water: Equipped with Phosphorescent Sakura eyes and a high-flash holographic finish, this lure stands out in the dawn/dusk periods or when the tide has stirred up the sediment.

Versatile Rigging Options

The Eskast ZN comes equipped with a high-quality treble on the tail, but also includes a spare hook in the pack.

Use the Treble: For maximum hook-up rates in open water.
Switch to the Single: When fishing over heavy kelp or rough ground to reduce snags, or for a more “sporting” catch-and-release approach.

Gerry’s Tip: Try the “Long Slide” technique. Instead of a standard straight retrieve, give the rod a long, smooth sweep, then wind up the slack as you lower the rod. This makes the Eskast ZN dart to the side and then flutter—a combination that Sea Bass simply cannot resist
