Description
Preston Innovations Absolute 5G Deep Side Drawer Unit
The Preston Innovations Absolute 5G Deep Side Drawer Unit is a high-capacity storage solution designed for the modern match angler who needs quick access to larger items of terminal tackle. Utilizing the industry-leading Mag-Lok technology, this unit provides a secure, reliable connection without the risk of plastic clips failing or jamming. The “Deep” profile of this drawer makes it the perfect home for bulkier items that simply won’t fit in standard shallow trays.
At Gerry’s Fishing, we find this to be one of the most popular modular additions to the 5G range. It allows you to organize everything from large spools of hooklength material to bulky feeders and tools, all while keeping them within easy reach while you are seated on your box.

Key Features & Benefits
-
Mag-Lok Reliability: The patented Mag-Lok system uses high-strength magnets to lock the unit into your seatbox stack. It eliminates the frustration of broken catches and ensures that even when the drawer is heavily loaded, the unit remains perfectly aligned.
-
Increased Storage Depth: The “Deep” designation means you can store items like large Method Feeders, bulk spools of line, and even some smaller accessory cases. It provides the vertical clearance required to keep your terminal tackle organized rather than crushed.
-
Side-Opening Accessibility: Because the drawer slides out from the side, you can access your gear without having to stand up or lift the seat unit. This is a massive advantage during a busy match when every second counts.
-
Customizable Internal Layout: The drawer is designed to accept Preston Drawer Dividers (sold separately). This allows you to create bespoke compartments for different-sized items, preventing your tackle from sliding around during transport on a Preston Shuttle.
-
Smooth Glide Action: The drawer runners are engineered for a smooth, consistent opening and closing action, even when the drawer is full of heavy lead weights or feeders.
Where to Use: Recommended Scenarios
-
Feeder Fishing Specialist: Use the deep drawer to store a variety of cage, window, and method feeders. The depth ensures the fins and frames of the feeders aren’t damaged when the drawer is closed.
-
Pole Fishing Organization: Ideal for storing larger items like pole cups, spare bungs, and large spools of fluorocarbon or mono.
-
All-Weather Protection: The unit features a weather-resistant seal, making it the ideal place to store moisture-sensitive items like hooks and swivel packs during rainy sessions.
-
Ergonomic Efficiency: Position this unit directly under your seat for the fastest possible access to your most frequently used tools, like your Sunset Braid Scissors or disgorger.
