It is engineered for those who demand the line capacity and cranking power of a big-pit reel combined with the legendary convenience of a Free Spool system. With a simple turn of the handle, the free-running spool disengages, putting you in direct contact with the fish via a precise, silky-smooth front drag.

Boasting an impressive 10+1 stainless ball bearing construction and a high-torque 4.3:1 gear ratio, this reel is built to retrieve heavy leads from long distances with ease. Finished in a sleek, understated matte black, it provides the reliability needed for modern carp and specialist angling while offering truly outstanding value for money.

Where to Use This Reel

Big Pit Carp Fishing: The 12000 size is the industry standard for large UK gravel pits, offering plenty of line for long-range casting and enough “heft” to balance 12ft or 13ft rods.
Long-Range Casting: The spool shape is designed for optimal line flow, helping you hit those distant bars and margins with accuracy.
Specialist River Work: An excellent choice for targeting heavy-fighting Barbel in flooded rivers or for specimen Pike fishing where a large line capacity and reliable free-spool are vital.
Bait Boat Sessions: While slightly smaller than the 14000, it still carries over 400m of 0.35mm line, making it more than capable for most bait boat scenarios.

Master the Multi-Disc Drag: Because the 12000 FS is designed for big fish, the front drag is highly sensitive. Before you start your session, set your “Free Spool” tension to just enough to hold against the flow or wind, but keep your main front drag set to your “playing” tension. This ensures that the moment you click that handle over, you are instantly in control of the fight without needing to fumble with the drag knob
