Drennan Driftbeater Float Mini

The Drennan Driftbeater Float Mini is a specialized, long-stemmed, bodied waggler designed specifically to tackle the difficult surface drift and skim encountered on wind-swept lakes, reservoirs, and commercial waters. Built around a super-fine, ultra-durable fiberglass stem and topped with a buoyant, bulbous sight bob, the Mini version delivers maximum presentation control and crisp visibility without sacrificing sensitivity when targeting wary species.
Engineered primarily for fishing “the lift method” or heavily anchoring hookbaits on the lakebed, the Driftbeater Mini allows your mainline to sit deep beneath turbulent surface water currents. This keeps your bait rock-solid and perfectly presented right in the feeding zone, making it a lethal pattern for tench, bream, crucians, and carp when standard wagglers get dragged out of position.

Gerry’s Pro Tip: Set your depth so the float sits with just the bulbous sight tip showing above the waterline, and place a heavy “anchor shot” (such as a No. 1, BB, or SSG depending on loading) 2 to 4 inches from your hook so it rests directly on the lakebed. When a tench or bream tilts to take the bait and lifts the anchor shot, the sight bob will pop right out of the water or lay completely flat—give it a second to slide away, and strike!
