At Gerry’s Fishing, we know that precision feeding is the cornerstone of a successful match. If you are inaccurately “sprinkling” bait by hand or using heavy, cumbersome pots that cause your top kit to bounce, you are missing out on fish. The Guru Pole Pots have been redesigned from the ground up to address every flaw of traditional designs. These are lightweight, versatile, and—most importantly—engineered to protect your expensive carbon top kits.
Whether you are “dripping” pellets for wary F1s or dumping a large quantity of meat into the margins for big carp, this range provides a specialized tool for every scenario. Made from a unique two-tone plastic, these pots are designed to be “stealthy” from below, ensuring that even in shallow water, fish aren’t spooked by the silhouette of your pole moving over their heads.
| Feature | Specification |
| Quantity | Two pots supplied per pack |
| Sizes Available | Small, Medium, and Large |
| Fitting System | X-Soft non-slip rubber (Multi-diameter) |
| Material | Super-light, two-tone stealth plastic |
| Small Pot Lids | 1x Solid (Maggots), 1x Perforated (Pellets/Soft baits) |
| Med/Large Lids | 2x Options (Narrow lip for meat/maggots; Wide lip for pellets) |
| Compatibility | Fits almost all modern power and match top kits |
X-Soft Fitting Technology: This is a game-changer for pole safety. The “X-Soft” rubber fitting allows the pot to grip a variety of top kit diameters securely without the need for glue or tape. Crucially, it won’t scratch or compress your carbon, even when used on the most delicate match kits.
Targeted Lid Options: Unlike one-size-fits-all pots, Guru provides specialized lids. The small perforated pot is perfect for “washing” pellets as you ship out, while the wide-lip lids on the larger pots prevent pellets from “jumping out” during shipping, giving you total control over when the bait is released.
Two-Tone Stealth Finish: The neutral, two-tone plastic breaks up the outline of the pot against the sky. This is vital when fishing shallow margins or “up in the water,” as it prevents the “shadow-fright” that often pushes big fish out of the swim.
Featherweight Construction: These pots are incredibly light. This reduces “tip bounce” when shipping out to long distances (13m-16m), allowing you to drop your bait with surgical precision exactly where your float is sitting.
The “Micro-Drip” Tactic: In winter or high-pressure matches, “dumping” bait can kill a swim. Use the Small Perforated Pot to ship out a mix of 2mm pellets and water. As you ship out, the vibration of the pole causes a tiny “scent trail” of pellet dust and water to fall through the column. This keeps fish looking for food without actually filling them up, often leading to much faster bites on your hookbait.
Margin Bagging for Carp: Use the Large Pot with the narrow-lip lid to dump large amounts of corn or hemp into the margins. The lid ensures the bait stays in the pot until you are ready to “turn it over.”
F1 “Slapping” & Pinging: The Small Pot is ideal for constantly dripping 4mm pellets over your float. It allows for a rhythm that mimics the sound of “pinging” with a catapult but with much higher accuracy.
Deep Water Breaming: On large reservoirs where you need to get a specific amount of groundbait to the bottom, the Medium pot allows you to deposit a “nugget” of feed perfectly over your rig every time.
Shallow Water Stealth: Use these when fishing in 2ft of water or less. The two-tone finish is far less invasive than traditional black or bright green pots, allowing you to feed directly over feeding fish without spooking them.
Pair your Guru Pole Pots with these essential accessories for the perfect pole setup:
Guru Micro Bait Bands: Ideal for presenting the pellets you are feeding.
Guru N-Gauge Monofilament: The perfect line for building your “power” margin rigs.
Guru Pinger Pole Floats: The ultimate companion for “pinging” and “potting” tactics.
Will these fit my specific brand of pole?
Yes. The X-Soft rubber fitting is designed to be universal. It stretches to fit thicker power kits and grips firmly on thinner match kits, making them compatible with almost all 2-piece top kits on the market.
Are there two pots in every pack?
Yes, every pack contains two pots, giving you great value and the ability to have different baiting options ready to go on multiple top kits.
Is the plastic brittle?
Not at all. The high-quality plastic used is flexible enough to withstand being dropped or knocked against a roller without cracking, unlike cheaper, harder plastic alternatives.
Which pot is best for maggots?
For maggots, we recommend the Small Solid Pot (to prevent them from crawling out through holes) or the Medium Pot with the narrow-lip lid. These options keep the “live” bait secure until you choose to feed.
