Product Details and Uses

Guru Rapid Release Pole Cups

At Gerry’s Fishing, we know that the traditional screw-on pole cup is a relic of the past that often causes more frustration than it’s worth. Crossed threads, stuck cups, and the constant fear of over-tightening your cupping kit are all too common. The Guru Rapid Release Pole Cups solve these issues with a high-speed, clip-based system that allows you to swap between different sizes in a split second.

This set of three cups is designed for the modern match angler who needs to vary their feed rate throughout the day. Whether you are “damping” a tiny nugget of groundbait with the 100ml cup or dumping a massive payload of particles with the 300ml version, the rapid-release mechanism ensures you stay efficient. Precision-engineered and vented to prevent bait from sticking, these cups are a must-have for anyone serious about their pole fishing.

Key Features & Advantages

  • Threadless Quick-Release: The standout feature is the clip-lock system. Instead of spinning a cup onto a thread—which can wear down or jam over time—these cups simply snap onto the adaptor. This allows you to change cup sizes instantly as the fishing dictates.

  • Vented “Anti-Suction” Design: Have you ever tried to cup in wet groundbait or softened pellets only for half of it to stay stuck in the cup? The Guru cups are vented at the base and sides. This breaks the vacuum seal, allowing air to enter and ensuring 100% of your bait leaves the cup exactly where you want it.

  • Three-Size Versatility: This isn’t a “one size fits all” kit. The 100ml cup is perfect for “scratching” out bites; the 200ml is your standard “all-rounder,” and the 300ml is the “big hitter” for the margins or establishing a heavy initial bed of feed.

  • Lightweight Durability: Despite their strength, these cups are remarkably light. This minimizes “top kit droop” when shipping out to 14.5m or 16m, ensuring your feed lands with surgical accuracy every time.

Pro Tip from the Shop

The Strength Secret: While the adaptor has a 5.0mm bore that can sit over some tips, we strongly recommend fitting it inside your cupping kit tip section. By cutting your cupping kit back to fit the adaptor internally and securing it with a high-quality epoxy, you create a much stronger bond. This prevents the tip from splitting under the weight of a 300ml cup full of heavy, wet groundbait and ensures the adaptor never “spins” or pulls off.

Examples of Where to Use

  • Marginal Carp Feeding: Use the 300ml cup to deliver large volumes of corn and hemp right against the reeds. The rapid release allows you to bait up and get back to fishing in seconds.

  • Commercial F1 Tactics: The 100ml cup is ideal for “drip-feeding” softened 2mm pellets. Its small profile won’t spook fish if you accidentally “dip” the cup into the water while shipping out.

  • River Groundbaiting: When targetting skimmers and bream on slow-moving rivers, use the vented 200ml cup to deliver “balls” of groundbait. The vents ensure the groundbait doesn’t “vacuum” into the cup, providing a clean drop every time.

  • Distance Pole Work: At 16 meters, accuracy is everything. The lightweight design of these cups ensures your pole remains manageable, preventing the “bounce” that can lead to bait spilling prematurely.

Internal Link Hooks

Pair your Guru Rapid Release Cups with these match-winning essentials:

  • Guru Fusion Groundbait Bowls: The perfect way to prep your feed before cupping.

  • Guru N-Gauge Monofilament: Build high-performance rigs to fish over your precision-fed spots.

  • Guru Plummets: Essential for finding the exact depth before you start cupping in your bait.

FAQs

Will these fit my pole?

The adaptor is designed with a 5.0mm bore. As most modern cupping kits are designed to be cut back to suit the angler’s preference, these can be fitted to almost any pole. Simply cut your kit back until the adaptor fits snugly (ideally internally).

Do I need glue to fit the adaptor?

Yes. We recommend a small amount of two-part epoxy or a strong superglue to secure the adaptor to your pole tip. Once the adaptor is on, the cups themselves just clip on and off without any tools.

Why are the cups orange?

Apart from the branding, the high-vis orange is actually very helpful for the angler. It provides a clear visual reference point when shipping out to long distances, helping you align your feed perfectly with your far-bank markers.

Are the cups easy to clean?

Absolutely. Because they are made from high-grade polymer and are vented, they can be rinsed in the lake or under a tap. They won’t absorb smells or harbor mold from damp groundbait.
