When it comes to rotary-rig safety, the Korda No-Trace Beads are the unsung heroes of the setup. At Gerry’s Fishing, we always tell our customers: your rig is only as good as its safety mechanism. These spare beads are the core component of both the Leadcore and Naked Chod Safety Systems, providing the “insurance policy” that ensures a carp can easily jettison the lead and leader in the event of a line breakage.

Designed with a unique side slot and a massive internal bore, these beads are engineered to pop off their housing under pressure and fall away from the line entirely. This leaves the hooklink swivel free to slide over any knots, weed, or debris. Because the system is designed for the bead to be lost during a breakage to save the fish, carrying a pack of spares is an absolute must for any responsible carp angler.

The “Drop-Away” Mechanism: The defining feature is the side slot. Unlike standard beads that stay on the line, the No-Trace bead falls off completely, removing the most common cause of “tethered” fish.
Large Bore Design: Once the bead is gone, the large eye of a Size 11 Ring Swivel has a clear path to slide off the end of the line, even if there are bulky knots or spliced loops in the way.

The “Dry-Fit” Warning:

These beads are designed to be a precision fit on the Korda Chod Sleeves. To ensure they release exactly when they should, always moisten the Chod Sleeve (the rubber part the bead sits on) before sliding a new No-Trace bead into place. If you fit them bone-dry, the friction can make them “grip” too tightly, which can delay the safety release. A quick lick or a dip in the lake is all it takes to keep your rigs 100% safe!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are they called “No-Trace”?

They are called No-Trace because once they pop off the sleeve, they leave “no trace” on the line. Traditional beads have to slide all the way to the end of the line to fall off; these just drop away instantly, leaving the swivel free to move.

Do I need different beads for leadcore vs. naked setups?

No. These spare beads are universal and fit the sleeves for both the Leadcore and Naked Chod Safety Systems. The sleeves themselves are different, but the No-Trace beads are the same.

Can I use these with other brands of sleeves?

While they may fit some other components, they are specifically engineered to work with Korda Chod Sleeves. For the system to be 100% safe and reliable, we strongly recommend only using them with the genuine Korda components.

Why are there 25 in a pack?
