Product Details and Uses

Nytro Feeder Blocker Stops

Protect your knots and fine-tune your rigs with the Nytro Feeder Blocker Stops. These oval-shaped rubber stoppers are a staple in any serious feeder angler’s tackle box, acting as the perfect “buffer” between your sliding feeder and your hooklength swivel. Unlike hard plastic beads that can bounce or slide under pressure, these are made from a high-grip, soft-touch rubber that stays exactly where you put it.

Available in three precision sizes, these blockers are designed to handle everything from light-line silverfish work on canals to “smashing it out” with heavy distance feeders on large reservoirs. Whether you are using monofilament or the latest thin braids, the Feeder Blocker Stops provide a secure, cushioned point of contact that preserves the integrity of your mainline.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Shock-Absorbing Rubber: The soft, durable rubber construction acts as a cushion, absorbing the impact of a heavy feeder during the cast and when a fish is shaking its head.

  • Braid & Mono Friendly: The internal bore is designed to grip tightly on “slick” braided lines just as effectively as it does on standard monofilament.

  • Oval Streamlined Shape: The tapered oval design reduces water resistance and helps shed weed and debris, keeping your rig fishing cleanly.

  • Zero-Damage Application: Because the material is soft, it won’t kink or “bruise” your mainline, ensuring you maintain the full breaking strain of your setup.

  • Easy-Transfer Wire Loops: Supplied on metal wire dispensers. Simply thread your line through the loop and slide the blocker on—it’s that simple.

Where to Use Nytro Feeder Blocker Stops

  • Standard Running Rigs: Use a single blocker as a buffer bead between your sliding feeder link and the swivel that connects your hooklength.

  • Semi-Bolt Rigs: Place two or three blockers back-to-back above your feeder to create a “semi-fixed” point. This creates enough resistance to help set the hook when a fish moves off with the bait.

  • Paternoster Setups: Use them to fix the position of a dropper or to protect the knot of a “T-junction” when fishing for predators like Perch.

  • Distance Feeder Work: Essential for protecting your knot from the high-velocity impact of 50g+ bullet or window feeders.

Gerry’s Pro Tip

“At the shop, we see a lot of broken rigs, and 90% of the time, the line snapped right at the knot. Using these Feeder Blocker Stops is the cheapest insurance you’ll ever buy for your fishing. My advice: don’t be afraid to double up. If you’re using a very heavy feeder at range, slide two blockers onto the line before your swivel. It doubles the ‘cushion’ and provides a much more stable boom effect, which helps keep your hooklength from tangling on the cast!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which size should I use for 0.10mm braid?

A: For thin braids and light mono (under 0.18mm), the Small size is the way to go. It has a tighter bore that will grip the thin diameter much more effectively than the larger sizes.

Q: Can these be reused once they are on the line?

A: Yes, you can carefully slide them off a piece of discarded line and back onto a wire or directly onto new line. However, for maximum grip, we always recommend using a fresh one from the dispenser for every new rig.

Q: Will the rubber perish in the sun?

A: Nytro uses a UV-stable rubber compound, so they won’t go brittle after a few sessions. That said, it’s always good practice to check your terminal tackle for wear before you start fishing.

Q: Do these slide during a heavy cast?

A: They are designed to stay put! However, for the ultimate grip on very slick braid, we recommend “wetting” the line before sliding the stop into position to ensure it seats perfectly.
