The Tronixpro Double Crimps are the definitive choice for constructing heavy-duty traces where knots simply aren’t an option. Unlike single crimps, the “figure-of-eight” double design allows you to pass the line through two separate chambers, providing a vastly superior grip and ensuring the tag end is locked tight.

At Gerry’s Fishing, we know that working with heavy mono (150lb+) and multi-strand wire is difficult. These crimps are manufactured from soft brass, which is the professional’s choice. Soft brass requires less pressure to deform, allowing the crimp to “mold” around the line. This creates a rock-solid bond while significantly reducing the risk of “pinching” or damaging the integrity of the line.

Where to Use Them (Pro Recommendations)

Shark Rubbing Leaders: Use these to create the loops on 200lb–400lb mono leaders for Blue, Porbeagle, and Mako sharks. They provide a streamlined connection that won’t catch on the rod guides.
Conger Eel Traces: When fishing the deep wrecks or rock marks for “Snakes,” use double crimps to secure your 150lb+ hook lengths. A knot in line this thick is bulky and prone to slipping—a double crimp is permanent.

Gerry’s Tip: For the absolute strongest connection, always use a dedicated pair of crimping pliers with the correct sized “cup.” Pliers with a flat surface can crush the line and create a weak point. When crimping, leave a tiny “flare” at both ends of the brass barrel—this prevents the sharp edge of the crimp from cutting into the line under extreme tension!
