The Avid InflataHouse Compact Inner Dome is the ultimate upgrade for your setup, transforming the open-plan shelter into a fully enclosed, twin-skin sanctuary.

By toggling this inner capsule into your Compact frame, you create a protected “room within a room.” It’s designed to keep insects at bay while providing an extra layer of insulation that traps warmth in the winter and stays cooler in the summer. With its zip-off groundsheet, you have the choice of a fully sealed “bathtub” environment or a more open setup for quick overnighters. Best of all, once it’s toggled in, you can leave it there—it’s designed to be packed away inside the main shelter.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Inner Dome cannot be used at the same time as the internal vapour shield. The Inner Dome essentially takes over the job of the vapour shield while adding floor and wall protection.

Pro Tip from Gerry’s Fishing

The “Dry-Pack” Strategy: If you’ve spent a week in the rain and your groundsheet is covered in mud, don’t roll it up with your nice dry Inner Dome! Zip the groundsheet off, give it a quick rinse in the lake, and store it in a separate bag. This keeps the breathable fabric of your Inner Dome fresh and prevents that “damp bivvy” smell from setting in during storage.

Does this fit the full-sized InflataHouse?

No. This model is specifically sized for the Compact version (250 x 250). There is a larger version available for the standard 300 x 300 InflataHouse.

How much headroom do I lose?

Very little. The dome is designed to sit tight against the air beams. While the peak height drops from 190cm to 180cm, it still feels incredibly spacious and allows most anglers to stand up comfortably.

Can I still use the side and rear access?

Yes. The Inner Dome features doors that align with the main shelter’s access points, so you can still “link” your bivvy to the side or rear even with the dome installed.

Is it hard to install?

Not at all. It uses a simple toggle-and-loop system. The first installation takes about 5 minutes, and after that, you never have to do it again as it stays attached during pack-down.
