As the more compact sibling to the 6000 model, the 5000 size is the ideal choice for the mobile angler who demands a lightweight setup without sacrificing the technical advantages of a dual-drag system. Whether you are stalking in the margins or fishing at medium range on a local estate lake, this reel provides a smooth, reliable performance in a stealthy package.

Built with a high-strength, lightweight graphite body and rotor, the FS 5000 is designed to take the knocks of active bankside use. It features an independent free-spool rear drag, allowing for precise tension settings on the take, and a micro-adjust front drag for total control during the fight. With a 5.1:1 gear ratio and 3+1 ball bearings, the retrieve is quick, smooth, and responsive, ensuring you stay in command when it matters most.

Where to Use the Xtractor+ FS 5000

Compact Carp Setups: The 5000 size is the “gold standard” for 9ft and 10ft rods. It keeps the overall weight of the setup low, making it much easier to carry on long stalking sessions or when roving between swims.
Small to Medium Waters: Ideal for venues where casting distance is secondary to accuracy and finesse. The free-spool system is perfect for those “lazy” afternoon sessions where you want to relax without worrying about your rod being pulled in.

“The FS 5000 is all about that ‘stealth’ look and feel. Having two spools included as standard is a huge win for the price point. I recommend loading one with a standard 10lb or 12lb monofilament for your general carping, and keeping the second spool loaded with a lower-diameter line for technical feeder or float work. The line-friendly clips on these spools are excellent—they don’t ‘pinch’ the line, which is vital for maintaining the breaking strain of your mono when you’re clipped up for accuracy
